Subject: New wiring harness
Application: GM, Jaguar, Rolls Royce
Issue Date: December, 1992

4L80-E
New Wiring Harness
The internal transmission wiring harness has been re-designed to incorporate the Transmission Fluid
Temperature Sensor into the wiring harness itself. The new harness will fit the early units, but since the tempera-
ture sensor is now "in Line" there will be no connector to attach to the screw-in style temperature sensor.

NOTE:
1. All 4L80-E's must have either the screw-in type or in-line type fluid temperature sensor.
2. If you install the new design harness on an early unit, the screw-in sensor must not be removed leaving an
open hole in the valve body. The hole in the valve body must be plugged, or a large mainline pressure leak will
result.
