Evaluation: I spend the last few days gathering answers to my audience questionnaire. Today I read
through those answers and analysed them. I looked at each question and its answers individually,
discussing the most common answers and how they will influence my video. To improve I could have
shared my questionnaire more so I can get more responses, I also could have gone into a little bit
more detail with my analysis.
Evaluation: Today I completed the reflection, equipment list, all production resources, and personnel
slides on the PowerPoint. For the reflection I discussed what I am making, why, who is it for, and
where will it be shown. I went into as much detail as I could for this section however I think I could
have worded my discussion on what I am making a bit better. For the equipment slide I listed the
equipment that I will be using during the filming process of my video and included images of each
one. For the production resources slide I talked about the equipment in more detail, the locations I
will be filming at, the costume, and the props I will need. I explained what I would be using each
thing and place for, and also explained why I am using the equipment I chose. For the personnel
section I discussed who will be helping with the production of the video. I also explained what their
jobs would be and why I needed someone to do those jobs. All these sections where simple to
complete and I believe I did them the best I could with only one small improvement needed.
Next steps: Next, I will be continuing with slides on the pre-production power point.
Evaluation: Today I completed a reference images slide, shot list, production group info, and started
working on the storyboard. For the reference images I found photos on google that were roughly like
the look I was aiming for. To improve this section, I could have used all first-person perspective
images as this is how my video will be filmed. For the shot list I explained the shot that I plan to use
throughout the whole video and then discussed why I have chosen to use this shot type. I also
included some images to show off what this shot looks like. On the production group info slide I
listed the names of the people involved in the filming, their contact info, and what their job will be. I
completed one page of the storyboard drawing out the key scenes in the video along with a short
description explaining what each one showed.
Evaluation: Today I finished my storyboarding and did a couple of CD cover design ideas. I created
three more pages with drawings of key frames in the video along with a brief description of what it is
showing. I used the final page to show the two possible endings I will have as I'm not sure which one
I will do. To improve this, I could have written in a bit more detail talking about the camera
movements for each clip and possibly used arrows in the drawings to show them. For the CD cover
designs I drew out four boxes and marked out with basic shapes where I wanted things to go. I
created two ideas and designed both the front and back of the cover. To improve this section, I could
have done a few more designs to extend my options.
Evaluation: Today I completed the storyboard examples and structural breakdown slides. For the
storyboard examples slide I picked 5 of clips I had drawn out and took photos to match each one to
show roughly how it is going to look on the finished product. To improve this section, I could have
chosen a couple more clips to show examples of. For the structural breakdown slides I wrote out the
lyrics of the song and for each part I explained what footage would be played at that point in the
song. To improve this section, I could have set it out differently on the page as I think it looks a bit
messy how it is now.
Evaluation: Today I completed the contingency plan, risk assessment, and production schedule. For
the contingency plan I made a list of possible issues and stated the effect on production, the solution
to the problem, and the person responsible for making sure the issue doesn’t occur. For the risk
assessment section, I named the locations and the risks at each one, I then stated the probability of
that risk happening, how high the impact of that risk occurring would be, and the solution to
preventing that risk. To improve this section, I could have thought of a few more risks for each
location. For the production schedule I created a chart to show roughly the number of hours it would
take for me to complete the filming, video editing, and creating the CD cover. I also discussed why I
gave myself that amount of time for each section.
Evaluation: Over the weekend I filmed some footage to experiment with some transitions. I used my
head mount and iPhone to film as this is what I will mainly be using for my final piece. I edited my
footage in adobe premiere pro and tried to make the transitions as smooth as possible. Both the
transitions I tried out worked well however next time I would need to make sure the clips are more
similar in terms of speed and angle.
