The two subtopics that are related to the topic are:
A. The reason for the participation of East Bengal is Pakistan.
B. Pakistan as a peasant utopia.

In our previous classes we have discussed about the "Two Nations' Theory and the Partition of the South
Asian Subcontinent in 1947
During the period of 1947 Pakistan and India got independence from British Empire. East Pakistan means present
Bangladesh was attached with West Pakistan. Now, think and find the reasons why East Bengal was in Pakistan during
the partition of the Subcontinent in 1947.
a. Explain the reason for participation of East Bengal in Pakistan. Why do you think the East Bengal Muslim
peasantry considered Pakistan as a Peasant Utopia? Explain.

The reason for the participation of East Bengal in Pakistan is because of the Tebhaga Movement where peasants wanted
to keep two-thirds of the crop rather than half or less and also because most of the peasants in East Bengal were
Muslims on the other hand most of the zamindars were Hindus and zamindars played a supreme role to peasants. So
political readers started a campaign to separate Bengal based on religion.

I think that the East Bengal Muslim peasantry considered Pakistan as a Peasant Utopia for the imminent collapse of
landlord system was hope for the Muslim Peasantry and also Muslims peasant realized that congress party had little
interest to champion tenant demand and also because of independent Pakistan could rid themselves from landlord
domination and peasant could achieve a ‘peasant utopia’ of cultivator land ownership, justice. So they moved for
economic reasons, not for religion.

I found this assignment to be very knowledgeable and interesting. I want to thank our teacher for giving
me this type of assignment.
