BEFORE Class

Step 1: Check hardware & software requirements for virtual training


 Check that your computer/internet connection meets the system requirements

 Use your personal laptop and download the GoToTraining desktop app from this link.
Note: We highly recommend participants to download the desktop app where possible for a smooth
training experience. If you are not allowed to install third-party software onto your corporate computer,
please use your personal laptop. Only if you do not have a personal laptop and your corporate laptop is
unable to download, you may use Chrome to launch the training via web browser on the actual training
day.

 Upon successful download, you will see this screen

Step 2: Create your user accounts
Members who are attending an AWS Training class for the first time are required to set up a total of 3
user accounts for student materials prior class using the same email address.

If you already have all 3 accounts, skip to step 3.

A. Registration to the AWS training portal


If you already have an AWS training account at aws.training, please skip to section B.
 Go to https://www.aws.training/. Click “Sign In” on the top right corner.

 Select “All regions” and click SIGN IN.

 Click Create your Amazon Account.

 Key in your business email address, and create your password. Click on Create your Amazon
Account.

 Set up your account profile and click save.
Note: If you are unable to use your business email and have to use personal email, please indicate
your company name clearly.

B. Registration for student guide


 Go to https://online.vitalsource.com. Click Create a VitalSource account.

 Key in your details and create your password. Please use the same email you used to create your
aws.training account.

C. Registration for lab account


 Go to https://aws.qwiklabs.com/
 Key in your details and create your password. Please use the same email you used to create your
aws.training account.

Step 3: Register for the class
 Click on the registration link provided to you, which looks like http://aws-class.com/XXXXX
 Select customer and click on course sign up

 Upon successful registration, you will see the course in your account transcript and receive a
confirmation email from noreply@amazon.com

TRAINING DAY: How to launch your virtual class


 If you have downloaded the desktop app, please use a non-Chrome browser. If you are unable to
download the desktop app, please use Chrome only.
 Sign in to AWS Training & Certification portal at least 15 minutes in advance
 Click on “My Account” at the top right > click “Transcript”

 Go to Current tab, locate class name


 Select “Open” under the class that you’ve registered for

 Launch class - Your training launch link will be available 30 minutes prior to class start.

 Mute yourself after successfully logging onto virtual platform (please submit questions on chat
box or raise them during Q&A session)
Note:
 If you have a pop-up blocker enabled, you will need to disable it for GoToTraining to
launch
 The preferred internet browsers are Chrome (if you are using the desktop app, do not use
Chrome because you will be sent to the web browser app), FireFox, Safari, and Internet
Explorer
 If you are using a Mac, please disconnect from VPN if possible to reduce lag
