23.Based on the Reality Check scenario at the beginning of the chapter, do you
believe the executive of a large company and the mayor of a large city need the
same leadership characteristics? Why or why not? I do believe that both the
executive of a large company and a mayor of a city need the same leadership
characteristics because it requires those certain leadership skills to lead larger
groups of people.

24.How is effective human relations related to effective leadership? If you can

effectively relate to your employees then there’s a better chance that they will
respect, and listen to you.

25.Using Figure 3-1, select the five most important leadership characteristics you
believe are needed by business managers. Justify your choices. To me the five
most important leadership questions are honesty, confidence, understanding,
intelligence, and Judgement. I think those are the most important five because to be
a good manger you have to be someone who is honest with their employees,
confident in their dictions, understanding of mistakes, has intelligence about the
company, and isn’t afraid to tell you what you need to here.

26.Provide two examples of a manager using power inappropriately. Now

provide two other examples of how a manager uses power appropriately.
Two examples of a manager using power inappropriately would be leaving work
early just because you feel like it, or firing someone just because you don’t really like
them. Two examples of a manager using power appropriately would be scheduling
ahead of time to leave work early for an appointment, or firing someone for being
unsafe at work
27.Do you believe each manager should develop work rules that apply only to his
or her employees? Why or Why not? I personally don’t think managers should
have specific work rules because the more rules you add the more it starts to feel
like work.

another? It is possible for someone to be an effective leader at one thing and not at
everything because everyone is different and some people are just better at
somethings than others are.

3. What do you recommend that Jesse and Rita do to improve the situation in the
