Pursuant to provisions of the California Elections Code, the undersigned, registered qualified
voters of the District 1, County of Shasta, State of California, hereby give notice that we are the
proponents of a recall petition and that we intend to seek your recall and removal from the office
of Supervisor in the district one, County of Shasta, State of California, and to demand an election
of a successor for that office.

The grounds for the proposed recall are as follows:

Removing Joe Chimenti is a course correction for Shasta County. 1) He has betrayed public
trust. He didn't defend our county from state government overreach. He bowed to Governor
Newsom, a lawless politician, for county funding. He capitulated to the state, failing to fulfill his
oath to secure our right to choose safety for ourselves. As Chair, he voted against terminating our
local emergency order, causing long term detriment to our businesses and children. 2) Need for
fundamental change. He has been irresponsible with taxpayer money, approving its use for
bloated, inefficient county programs and accepting CARES funding which has indebted our
county to new programs and positions unsustainable by taxpayers. He did not support a motion
that would have given 50% to local businesses. 3) This is a last resort. With Chimenti as Chair,
we cannot afford to wait until 2022 to elect new representation. This recall is an expose of
Chimenti' s disregard for the Constitution, and his inability to act on behalf of community
leaders, parents, doctors, nurses, teachers, and experts that petitioned for local control. We must
return to reasonable, representative, and accountable local government for ourselves and our
future generations.
