Case Study:

 Will serve as the final exam


 Individual work
 Deadline: September 26, 2020 10:00 PM
 Should be related to the subject Organizational Behavior & Communication
and to the topics reported in the forum.
 Tip: Read 3x the story of the case
 Word file, no specific format as to font type and size, spacing etc.

Grading system:

Theoretical Lens 20%
Theory and Data 20%
Action Taken 20%
Recommendations 20%

Case Study Format:

I. Background/Rationale:
 Discuss the things that transpire that leads to the organizational
behavior and communication, the problems, products and services.
 Short story or gist of the case
 Summary of the case, important inputs that affect in solving the
problem
II. Issues and Concern: (Problems that you encountered on the case)
 Problems encountered in the case
 When you read a case, you may encounter a lot of problems, for
example: problems in tardiness, insubordination, communication, etc.
 Present the problems in bullets. For example, problems in tardiness –
enumerate all problems related in tardiness and present it in a bullet
form.
III. Point of View: (Person who can possibly solve the problem)
 Reminder: do not use your own point of view!!!
 It must be the pov of person whom you think could solve the problem
IV. Statement of the Problem: (Analyze the issues and concern. Cause and
Effect analysis)
 Go back to issues and concerns (part 2), and analyze if those issues
and concerns identified are causes or effects.
 To identify a problem, “dapat dili ang epekto kundi ang hinungdan.”
 Cause = problema
V. Objective/s:
 Be consistent
 Geared towards solving your statement of your problems
 May be 1 or 2 as long as it is doable
VI. Areas of Consideration: (Areas to consider in solving the problem)
 Facts that are found in the case
 Areas considered before giving any recommendation/solution
 Take note of any attempts of the organization to solve the problem
identified (part 4) but did not work para paghatag nimo ug solution, you
can no longer make that as a solution kay wala sya nag work and there
is something to be improved pa.
 Areas to consider in solving the problem.
VII. Alternative Courses of Action: (With advantages and disadvantages.
 Two or more possible solutions
 Should be independent.
 In every alternative, put advantages and disadvantages to guide you
what is the best alternative in solving the problem.
VIII. Recommendation: (ACA with more advantages than disadvantages)
 Simple “I therefore recommend alternative course of action # __”
IX. Plan of Action: (Chronologically arranged with timeline and budget)
 Identify series of activities that will address your problem
 Include activities and naa pud kay contact person kinsa mutrabaho ana
 Dapat ang mutrabaho kay ang tao na gikuha nimo na POV (Be
consistent)
 Series of events, for example, consultation, hiring of consultant, etc.
 At the end of your plan of action, go back to your statement of the
problem and ask yourself, “did I answer my statement of the problem?”
for you to check if you are consistent s imo gina solve.
