Magazine Sales

Hi Everyone,
As you can see, our magazine has been selling well in winter. In February, we sold 15,000 copies.
But in summer, the sales have been very poor. August was our worst month. In August, we only
sold 6,000 copies.

Perhaps this is because people are more likely to be outside in summer. In winter, they stay
indoors and read our magazine.

Does anyone have any ideas how we can increase summer sales?

Dear Aunt Jane,

I am sorry it has been so long since I wrote to you. How are you? How is Uncle Barry?
I have been thinking about you both often.
I have finished at university now. It was a really fun three years.
I am writing because I am coming to Newmarket and I wondered if I might be able to stay
with you?
It would be between October 5th and October 15th. Of course, I will understand if you are
busy or are planning to go away somewhere.

Your nephew,
Charles

Dear Charles,
How lovely to hear from you. Uncle Barry and I are both very well thank you.
We would absolutely love you to come and stay. How exciting. It must have been 5 years
ago that you came to stay.
As you know, we have a spare bedroom for you. You don’t need to bring anything with you.
What will you be doing in Newmarket? Will you come by train? We can pick you up from
the station. What time will your train arrive?

Lots of love,
Auntie Jane

Dear Lucy,

I saw your advert for the yoga group. I have always wanted to try yoga.
I am worried because I am not very fit. I might not be able to keep up with the rest of the
group.
I have a few questions anyway. First, do I need to bring my own mat?
Second, how much do the lessons cost?
And finally, can I just try one lesson to see if I like it?

Sincerely,

Kara Walker

Dear Kara,

Thank you for your e-mail about the yoga group.

The group is for all ages, shapes, and abilities. We are not all super fit – so don’t worry!
Why not come along on Tuesday. There is no charge for the first session. You can borrow one of
my mats for the first week, too.
If you decide you like it, then it’s $5 per session. I can also sell you a mat for $15. If you have any
more questions, just let me know.
Hope to see you on Tuesday.
