Introduction
This manual is a guide for users of NC Explorer for the Mitsubishi CNC M700V, M70 and M700 Series.
This manual explains how to operate the NC Explorer, so read this thoroughly before using.
Fully understand "Precautions for Safety" on the next page to use the Mitsubishi CNC M700V, M70 and M700
Series safely.
CAUTION
For items described as "Restrictions" or "Usable State" in this manual, the instruction manual issued by the
machine tool builder takes precedence over this manual.
Items that are not described in this manual must be interpreted as "not possible".
This manual is written on the assumption that all option functions are added. Confirm the specifications
issued by the machine tool builder before use.
Some screens and functions may differ depending on each NC system (or version), and some functions
may not be possible. Please confirm the specifications before use.
Precautions for Safety
Always read the specifications issued by the machine tool builder, this manual, related manuals and attached
documents before installation, operation, programming, maintenance or inspection to ensure correct use.
Understand this numerical controller, safety items and cautions before using the unit.
This manual ranks the safety precautions into "DANGER", "WARNING" and "CAUTION".
When the user may be subject to imminent fatalities or major injuries if handling is
DANGER mistaken.

If the descriptions relating to the "restrictions" and "allowable conditions" conflict between this
manual and the machine tool builder's instruction manual‚ the latter has priority over the former.
The operations to which no reference is made in this manual should be considered impossible.
This manual is compiled on the assumption that your machine is provided with all optional
functions. Confirm the functions available for your machine before proceeding to operation by
referring to the specification issued by the machine tool builder.
In some NC system versions‚ there may be cases that different pictures appear on the screen‚
the machine operates in a different way on some function is not activated.

1. OUTLINE
“NC Explorer” enables the host PC’s Explorer connected to NCs to operate the NCs’ machining
data files via Ethernet.

The network environment and device configuration which is covered by this system is as in Fig.1-2.
Targets of file operation are NCs on the same subnet as the host PC’s, and NCs on a different
subnet.

Function Outline
Searching NCs Search NC devices on the same subnet as the host PC’s and
NC devices on registered subnets.
Registering subnets From the dialogue box, register the network information
(subnet address, subnet mask, gateway address) of NC
devices on a subnet which is different from the host PC.
Setting NC device information Set an NC to connect by specifying the NC No. and port No.
for each NC device’s IP address.
Showing folder/file information Show an NC device’s folder/file information.
Copying a file Copy an NC device’s file.
Deleting a file Delete an NC device’s file.
Changing a file name Change an NC device’s file name.
Creating/Deleting a folder Create/Delete an NC device’s folder.

(4) On the product ID input screen, enter the product ID, and push “Next”.

(If you wish to change the setting, push “Back”.)
Setup starts.
(9) When installation successfully finishes, the complete screen will appear.
If a window confirming overwriting the environment setup files appears, select “Yes.”
Push “Finish”.
First, uninstall the older version, then install the new version.

The NCs on the same subnet as the host PC’s are automatically searched and shown under
“MITSUBISHI CNC Network” of Explorer when you click “MITSUBISHI CNC Network”.

Register the information of a subnet which is different from the host PC’s.
In the registration screen (see Fig. 3-3), enter the network information (see Table 3-1 for details) of
the subnet which is different from the host PC’s.

Right-click on the NC device to delete, and select “Delete”. An NC on the host PC cannot be
deleted.

In order for NC Explorer to access the memory device of an NC display, user verification is required.
If you attempt to open a directory on the HD (by double-click, or by unfolding of contextual menu,
etc.), password input will be requested.
The password which is input will be stored in the registry for each NC device, so password input will
be omitted from the next time.

Right-click on the file (or folder) to copy, and select “Copy”. Then in the right area of the screen of
NC Explorer, right-click and select “Paste”. The file will be transferred.
