Online DGA For Three Transformer Bank
Online DGA For Three Transformer Bank
On line dissolved gas analyzer shall be provided common for a group of three single phase transformers
bank. It shall measures all eight transformer Fault indicating gases i.e. Acetylene (C2H2), Methane (CH4),
Ethane (C2H6), Hydrogen (H2), Oxygen (02), Ethylene (C2H4), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Carbon Dioxide
(C02) and moisture (H2O). The results shall be communicated to control room or remote location.
The equipment shall be capable to extract eight on-line gases from transformer oil.
The equipment shall be connected to 3 no. Single-phase transformer of the bank and it shall have 3
seprate oil channels for each transformer and shall monitor all three transformers separately.
The distance between each single phase transformer is approximately 15 meters. The DGA system
shall be placed at the centre loaction and shall be connected with seprate oil piping with each single
phase transformer.
Communication interface: Analyzer is outfitted with the ability to communicate via modem or RS-232/
RS-485. The results shall be communicated to the local computers and as well as transmitted to
remote location computers.
The equipment shall be able to measure gas concentration and when downloaded should
immediately compare it with user selected alarm & caution level for immediate display. The sampling
rate shall be user selectable as 4 or 6 or 12 hours etc. The equipment shall have inbuilt memory to
store these results.
The equipment should have LCD display to provide up to date information at site.
The levels of dissolved gases shall be displayed in PPM or as a percent of alarm setting, making
recognition of dangerous levels immediately. The technical feature of the equipment shall be as
under:
Detection & Measurement of : CH4, CO2, C2H4, C2H6, C2H2, H2, CO, O2 and
Type of Gases Moisture
Humidity range : 10 to 95 %
The suitable indications for power On, Alarm, Caution, normal operation etc. shall be provided on the
front panel of the equipment.
Software: PC software provides fault indication and fault diagnostics including the following:
Fault indication:
i) IEEE, IEC or user configurable levels of dissolved gases
ii) Rate of change trending
Fault Diagnosis:
i) Key gases
ii) Ratios (Rogers, IEC. Etc)
iii) Duval’s Triangle
iv) Church monogram
v) Cellulose degradation
Software can also provide diagnostic reports for individual pieces of equipment or for a full system, using the
equipment tree.
