If you’re a beginner skateboarder, I’m sure you’ll be asking yourself 'what are the first skateboarding tricks I should learn
to get started?'

Tricks are a big part of skateboarding; this is why we’ve compiled a list of tricks for all beginners to start practicing. Get
started now and take them step by step. Good luck!

1. OLLIE

First up we have the Ollie. This is one of the fundamental skateboarding tricks. In our opinion, it should be the first one
you learn as many other tricks will lead on from this.

2. NOLLIE / NOSE OLLIE

Next we have the Nollie, also known as a Nose Ollie. This trick is similar to the Ollie but instead of popping the tail, you
pop the nose. Learning this trick will put you in a good position for transitions and many other tricks.
3. SHUVIT / POP SHUVIT

The Shuvit and the Pop Shuvit have been popular tricks for many years. The general belief is that they’re easy to do and
they look great to perform when you are cruising along. The best way to master this trick, is to learn how to Shuvit first
with no pop, then add the pop.

4. FRONTSIDE 180

So you have learned to Ollie, Shuvit and Pop Shuvit. Let's up those skills to the Frontside 180. Before learning this trick,
it's best to get confident in the ones above. You'll start with your feet in a similar position to how you would start an
Ollie, but the movement you need for the 180 turn will come from your shoulders.
5. BACKSIDE 180

Now let's get the Backside 180 under your belt. Your foot positioning is very much the same as it would be for an Ollie,
but the most important movement again will be in your shoulders.

6. KICKFLIP

The Kickflip has always been a popular trick. Not only does it look cool, but once you learn to Kickflip it'll make other
tricks a bit easier to master. Kickflip styles can be different depending on who's doing them but the basic movements
are common in all of them.
7. POWERSLIDING

Powersliding looks fantastic and it’s a great way to scrub some speed before attempting a big trick! The key to
powersliding is building up speed beforehand, so make sure you're comfortable riding your board around first.

8. HEELFLIP

Much like the Kickflip, Heelflips have been a staple in the skateboarding community for some time. Your foot
positioning at the start of the trick is very important; this is what allows the board to rotate in the air.
9. CASPER FLIP

The Casper Flip looks fantastic, and not many people have heard of it. To land this trick successfully you'll have to focus
on the positioning of your feet and your speed.

10. MANUAL

The manual is a great skill to learn as it helps tie your combos together. Make those earlier tricks looks like 1 fantastic
combo with the Manual. Before attempting this trick, it's super important to make sure you're comfortable riding and
balancing on your board.
*BONUS TRICK* - 50 50

So you have learned lots of flatland tricks, now let’s add some rail skill. The 50 50 is a great entry-level grind to learn
and show off at the park. It also feels great to accomplish so have a go!

Good luck and be safe.
