ABSTRACT
Applied Linguistic is usually referred to as the branch of linguistic involved with sensible
application of language studies, as an example language teaching, translation, and speech
therapy. English language is a global language. Learning English improves the individual’s
status and opportunities in education, technology, global trades, and business. Linguistic theories
of the past twenty years barely mentioned by applied linguistics. And general level draw three
implication from this. Needless to say these personal interpretations are not necessarily share by
three contribution, the applied linguist is a jack of all trades, the applied linguist is ago-between
not enforce a servant not a master, sheer description of any areas linguistic as such but
descriptive linguistic. Applied linguistics is sometimes used to refer to second language
acquisition, but these are distinct fields, in that second language acquisition involves more
theoretical study of the system of language, whereas applied linguistics concerns itself more
with teaching and learning.

Davies (2007:1) Applied Linguistics is
now a cover term for a sizeable group
of semi-autonomous disciplines, each
dividing its parentage and allegiances
between the formal study of language
and other relevant fields, and each
working to develop its own
methodologies and principles. It means
that applied linguistic now a canopy
term of sizeable cluster of semi-
autonomous discipline, each dividing

2. DISCUSSION

language teaching
English language is a global language.
Learning English improves the
individual’s status and opportunities in

(2015:103) teaching English has been an
important issues in countries where
English is not their first language, so
learning second language is difficult for
second language learners because they
cannot use English in real life situation,
because they should learn sentences in
textbooks not in real environment. In
another word teaching English has been
vital problems in countries wherever
English is not their first language, thus
learning second language is troublesome
for second language learners as a result of
they cannot use English in world situation,
because they ought to learn sentence in
textbooks not in real environment. In other
hand Suparman (2016:86) state Linguistics
nowadays plays a minimal role in applied
linguistics whether in terms of current
linguistics theories or descriptive tools.
Linguistics theories of the past twenty
years barely mentioned by applied
linguistics. It can be said the linguistic
these days plays a borderline role in
applied linguistic whether or not in terms
of current linguistics theories or
descriptive tools. Linguistic theories of the

trades. Real-world language problems can
seldom be resolved by looking at single
aspect of language. Since applied linguistics

expected to know a little about many areas,
not only of language, but also philosophy,
sociology, computer programming,
experimental design and many more. It
means that real-world language issues will
rarely be resolved by looking at single side
of language. Since applied linguistic is
interdisciplinary the applied linguistic is
expected to grasp a bit regarding many
areas, not solely of language however
additionally philosophy, sociology,
computer programming, experimental style
and plenty of more.
2) The applied linguist is ago-between,

problem that can applied linguistic can be
deal with is complex and multi-faceted. It
can be said applied linguist is ago-

strengthen all the language issues in
reaching to answer the fundamental

scientific works and linguistic will
facilitate to strengthen all the language
programs in getting answer elemental
