For those who don't know me, my name is Geia Pratita Adiarti.
Today I want to talk about a new culinary place that is much talked about in
Malang.
Can all of you guess what it is?
Ok, I want to introduce one of the new culinary places in Malang, namely
Lafayette coffee and eatery.
The cafe, which opened on April 3, 2021, is located on Semeru Street No.4,
Oro-Oro Dowo, Klojen District, Malang City, East Java.
Lafayette carries a luxurious heritage-modern concept using old Rajabali
buildings. Do all of you know what Rajabali is?
Rajabali is one of the cultural heritage buildings in Malang City. This building
has thick elements with the historical story of the journey of Malang City since
the Dutch colonial era. The evidence is some buildings, such as the 1940's
floors, are still being preserved in this cafe.
One of the favorite places for most visitors to Lafayette is the rooftop area on
the 2nd floor. Visitors can enjoy the afternoon while enjoying a drink and
hanging out with friends.
Because of the covid-19 pandemic and also Laffayete opened during the
pandemic, the café implemented strict health protocols, such as using hand
sanitizers when entering cafes, wearing masks, and maintaining distance.
For the Lafayette Coffee & Eatery menu, the main menu is coffee with various
variants, such as V60, espresso, until cappuccino. Besides the coffe menus,
they also serve for the non coffe drinker. For the non coffee drinker, you can
order many beverage such as Ice chocolate, Ice Matcha, Tea , and many more.
And for the food, you can also enjoy a variety of Asian and Western food
menus. Western menus that the visitors can order include steak with adapted
flavors. For the Asian menu, the mainstay is Sambal Matah Fried Rice which is
not often found in other restaurants. You can also enjoy the rawon or soup
menu with a different concept.
For the dessert lovers, you can also try various pastries in the form of snacks
and desserts at this cafe. One of the desserts that is delicious for chocolate
lovers is Chocolate mousse. This dessert is made of creamy chocolate and
chocolate brownie at the bottom layer of it.
