White sands New Mexico

When I was about 15 years old, I use to live in a small town called Alamogordo
New Mexico. Alamogordo is a really small town where mostly a lot of veterans live
which makes it a boring town for a teenager or an adult without family. Everything
in Alamogordo is maybe about 8 mins away max, that’s how small the town is and I
liked that because I’m always running late everywhere and living in this town where
everything is close by makes me be on time to all my appointments. I really didn’t
like it at all leaving in that small town because I was used to living in a big city like
Chicago and I wasn’t used to being around people that knew everyone in town and
all of their life, which for me it was really something unpleasant because I don’t like
other people knowing all of my personal business or them knowing how I live or
what I do or don’t do. But each city or state has there good things and there bad
things. Which Alamogordo has a really beautiful place that is called White sands.
The only thing I did like more from Alamogordo is that the weather is just perfect
in the winter, there is no snow and no negative degree temperature days. I used to
love when it would rain and the smell of the rain with the dirt smelled amazing,
even when I come to visit and it smells like rain, it brings me back a lot of
memories. Right now, the weather in Alamogordo is around 56 to 60 degrees unlike
Chicago that its crazy snowing and below 0 temperatures.
Alamogordo is a beautiful city because its surrounded by mountains and that’s the
view you wake up to every day.

When I first arrived at Alamogordo there wasn’t much things to do or to go out

and discover, this town is more like a town were older people will come to retire
and live the rest of their life in peace and stress free.

. The first time I went to this amazing and beautiful place called White Sands, I fell
in love with all the white everywhere. I honestly couldn’t believe how beautiful
and peaceful it was to be in this place. And to think
I didn’t even want to go because I thought it would be so boring and
overwhelming. It turned out to be the total opposite and I ended up loving this
place.

White sands has big mountains where you can get some sliding boards and go
down the mountains like if it was snow but without it being so cold or wet which
makes it more pleasant to be because you’re not freezing yourself out in the cold
weather.

I was always so amazed and shocked of the fact that there was a lot of white sand
in this place, I’ve never asked or try to investigate why the sand was white and
how was it possible for it to be so many white sands and only in that specific area
because I haven’t seen white sand anywhere, usually the sand I get to see all the
time is brownish or a nude color.

Last week I’ve decided to take a trip and visit my older sister that lives in
Alamogordo. We decided to go to White sands since the weather was beautiful. It
was nice and sunny outside with a little bit of wind which it didn’t make it all that
pleasant because the sand would go to your eyes and to the food on the table.

On are way to white sands, my sister was telling me that the reason why the sand
is white is because all of that area with white sand use to be under the sea many
years ago. That’s when it made more sense to me and I started realizing that I
never even wanted to culturize myself on knowing why the sand was white. I still
need to investigate more on the exact reason of the white sand. But this is one of
the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve been too.

This beautiful view that white sands has is honestly the most relaxing and
peaceful place I have ever been too. It’s one of the places that is so stress free for
me and my family where we can just forget about everything and have a relaxing
enjoyable family time with the persons we love.
