Imprints of Rain

The first thing which came to my mind, when we were informed about our outbound trip to Goa, was the
exotic beaches and the churches. It was the first trip to Goa for many of us and even the thought was
exciting. We talked all the way about the mesmerizing beaches, beauty and the breeze, also the night life.
Goa is famous as the foreigner’s travel destination, thus the expectations also were high to experience
these for the first time.

Having being heard a lot about Goa culture, I was looking forward to the food and churches, needless to
mention the beaches. On reaching, the first thing that caught my eye, was the way Rain makes the place
even more beautiful .Though it seemed as if rain was spoiling the mood, I felt as it made things more
beautiful.

Rain as said cleanses the Earth as well as soul, it seemed to relax us. Having being lived in a place where
it rains almost daily, had never seen the way it makes a difference to so many things around. Always felt
that it spoilt the mood to do anything. The drizzle is perceived to make everyone sleepy, lazy and also
reluctant to move out. It makes us sit back at home and feel like relaxing and enjoy a cup of coffee.

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller

The rainy season of Goa would surely change these perceptions. The early morning sun drenched with the
night’s droplets make it worth waking up to watch the sunrise. The pleasing sight of dew drops on the
leaves and flowers roots you to the place, unable to take your eyes off it. Rainy season is supposedly off-
season for tourists but going there made it a false statement. The slow drizzle on the face relaxes the soul.
The rides on bikes and activa with the soothing breeze accompanied by the drizzle makes the drive even
better. The beaches look even more inviting. The hazy vision of and the dazed look of the sun make the
foot prints on the sand look even more pretty to try out.

The sand castles being built by children and broken by the waves look lesser rude. Shopping while getting
drenched to the skin or sitting in restaurants on couches while the shop-keepers crib about the dirty floors
and wet couches, is a good laugh. The rains comforted the souls which no casual vacations could have
done otherwise.

People should explore Goa during this time and enjoy not only the beach, beauty and the culture but also
add the drizzle and breeze to their lists. Explore the unknown..
