Have you hear about Garut?

Or Swiss Van Java?

And today, I will to tell you about Garut as my lovely hometown.

Garut is located in West Java Province of Indonesia

Garut Regency has an administrative area of (three hundred six thousand five hundred
nineteen)306,519 Ha (3,065.19 km²) with the following boundaries:

North

Bandung Regency and Sumedang Regency

East

Tasikmalaya Regency

South

Indonesian Ocean

West

Bandung Regency and Cianjur Regency

Garut has nickname diamond town. Garut is a small town but it’s a beatifull town. if we look
this town in high place so we can look garut like a bowl because all of this town around by
some mountains. Garut have a lot of beautifull tourism so we can enjoy in their. We can
choose various of the tourism we want because garut have many kind of tourism, start from
beach until mountain.
If we will visit to highland or mountain we can visit to cikajang, kamojang or darajat. In
cikajang we can find a lot of tea field and we can visit to water fall. The waterfall name is
‘curug orok’. In water fall we can play in there and we can feel village situation. To arrive in
the water fall we must through a lot of ladder and to leave it we must through ladder again,
So we must have too much energy because is reasonable tire.
Like in cikajang, in darajat we can find and visit a lot of tea field, potato field, carrot field
and another field and we can visit hot spring in there. The hot spring is so beautifull place
and in there we can swimming, playing and in there have a water boom, but in hot spring
belerang’s smell is very strong. Beside we can play water in hot spring, we can enjoy with
outbond, ride a horse and we can pick strawberry.

Different with cikajang and darajat, in kamojang we can visit a lot of crater. So in there we
must stabli with the belerang’s  smell.
Although garut around by mount but it have lowland and beach. If we want to look sunset
and sunrise we can go to pameungpeuk. There are have a lot of beach so we can choose
beeach we want. We can visit to sayangheulang beach, santolo beach, rancabuaya beach
and another beach. Each a beach has a specially view and situasion. But, we must carefull
in garut’s beach because the beach be connected direct with hindia’s ocean so the wave is
very big. In there different with kuta beach or pangandaran beach, because in here we
cannot play until to far because its danger. Although in this beach notting banana boats,
boats and another player but in here we can fell quiet and spoilt our eye and ear. We can
look a good view, we can hear the voice of wave and we can feel peace.

Beside that in garut still another tourism like a cangkuang temple, cangkuang lake, bagendit
lake and cipanas. Cipanas in garut different with cipanas in puncak bogor. In puncak,
cipanas have be a cold water but in garut the water is hot, same with this name. cipanas
meening of hot water,ci is water and panas is hot. In cipanas we can swimming, playing,
morover therapy and treat to skindisease.

Like in eats java or center java, garut have a temple. The name’s cangkuang temple.  
Although the temple is small, but it’s a garut’s reaches so we still proud with it. Beside we
can look the temple, in there we can find a local culture is ‘kampung naga’. This village has a
unique tradition, one house must be just one head of household live in a house. So if child is
get merried, they must leave that house. Next in their we can visit cangkuang lake and we
can surround of lake with raft. Raft is a traditional vehicle, make from bamboo.
Same with in the cangkuang lake, in bagendit lake we can look a lake and we can souround
of lake with raft. Garut has another tourism where each have specially feature.

Beside  we can visit to a good place, we can try to culinery tourism. In there have a lot of
kind of food but the familiar food is dodol. Dodol is local food from garut. The tasty of dodol
is swety. Dodol available in to much kind, like ketan rise dodol, peanuts dodol, fruits dodol ,
potatos dodol, bananas dodol and at cetra. Then the new food in garut is chocodote,
chocodote is a cocholate with dodol garut. So in center of chocolate available a dodol. This
is a chocholat with dodol firs in word. If you don’t know dodol, maybe its much the same
with jenang in eats java.but dodol is smaller than jenang.
