10 ways of sustainability of the establishment applies green design strategies, and or energy
conversation practices

 Sanitation

Squisito Café will use the 3 R – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle for the waste disposal. We decided to
separate wet wastes from dry wastes. As we all know, wet wastes have the tendency to smell
unpleasant when not disposed properly. Management is planning to dispose the wet wastes
immediately and place it on the garbage bag outside the premises to avoid bad scent. Dry waste will
only be placed outside if there is a garbage collector to avoid stacking up of garbage outside. Stacked up
garbage is not good to look at outside and it might cause the customers to avoid the premise. All wastes
should be disposed off immediately to keep the working area sanitary.

 Sustainability

Squisito Café is located on the 2 nd floor in Amio Property- Sta. Rosa 2, Laguna Bel Air Drive, Don Jose,
Santa Rosa Laguna. The wall is half glass which can conserve light, especially in morning. We can just use
the sunlight as a lighting in the shop, these can reduce the electricity bills and can contribute and help a
lot to the environment by lessening the carbon pollution .

 SAY NO to Single-Use Plastic

The amount of single-use plastic wasted every day is staggering! Yet, there are so many options
available for coffee shops who want to cut out or reduce single-use plastic. Squisito cafe Replacing our
plastic with paper straws, wooden stirrers or compostable cups and lids can help to bring down the
carbon footprint of are café shop without compromising on convenience. When selecting our suppliers,
seek to partner with forward-thinking businesses that have sustainability at the forefront of their
agenda.

 Invest in a Low Energy Espresso Machine

Squisito café investing in an espresso machine with energy saving features like low energy output,
boiler insulation and group head flushing can make a big difference. In fact, by not doing this you could
be using 50% more energy than you need to! As well as reducing the carbon footprint of the squisito
café

 Coordinate well with the lgu to collect the waste, and segregate properly the waste by labelling
proper all the waste collected by the store.
 Use of paper holders for take out, and to promote a no straw policy, by partnering to the
supplier that can cater the requested packaging for the products. Boxes for the pastries and
paper cup holders for the drinks.

 Innovations and Openness to New Ideas


Coffee is now a lifestyle as much as beverage, so at Squisito Café, innovation can be the best
way to become success in this business. Whenever customers have suggestions or concerns,
Squisito Café is open to listen to their feedback because it might help to the sustainability of the
Café.

 Cleanliness is a must
In order to have positive feedbacks, cleanliness is one of the most important part of an
establishment. Squisito Café is making sure that from the dining room up to the kitchen,
comfort rooms, and especially to employees are clean and more importantly sanitized timely.
