Executive Summary:

Introduction:
Background Information:
The Wharf hotel is run by family members with zero planning and proper
arrangements. Many problems occur, no performance appraisals for staffs, no
communication with line management, no any efficient HR for hiring and
recurrent. Now Tom and Mary taking care of this hotel but still the condition is
same as we previously discuss in executive summary.

Purpose:
The main purpose of reviewing this case study is to know that how much miss
managements and problem can appears without planning and ignoring strategies.
And overcome the issues of our staff satisfaction.

Introduction to the case:


Tom and Mary are brother and sister in relation and them born and grown up on
the culture of their family business and after that they take the charge and starting
running the business to their own, they want to do everything by themselves like
their parent did. But they are showing the lack of professionalism and proper
planning and strategies to run the business, they do not motivate staff to show their
efficiency and talent. The Strategic planning is the most important tool for success
and determines the future goals.

Problem Statement:
 Employees are not satisfied with the owners.
 There is poor communication with the Line management.
 No performance Appraisals for motivation of staffs.
 No any sense of team work
 No any hiring and recurrent process and not even individual depart for that.
 Owners get the credit of employee performance and on the other hand let the
employees facing the problem.

Literature Review:
Tom and merry is running the closed corporation and that they face the matter of
high employee turnover rate as their management skills aren't quite good and their
relationship with employees is not good also. We’ve stated many problems that the
wharf hotel is facing among the team members as there's no coordination among
the staffs and also there's no managers or line managers to ready to manage the
workers. The result from this case study is there's a requirement of managers and
supervisor which require managing the workers strategically to perform all the
tasks effectively.
We also determine that in closed corporation there's lot of problems
which we've stated above within the case study. The owners haven't tried to
create relationship and also their no teamwork among the employees. They're not
synchronizing with one another work. So, the coordination is extremely important
is any business especially within the hotel management where it's the foremost
important.

Conclusion:
The conclusion of this research is tom and merry need to work with their team
members and build a strong team and start performance appraisals system and
setup the workshops & training sessions for his or her staff to reduce the worker
turnover and to accomplished proper relationship with their employees. They
have to trust their employees and share responsibility with their employees to
form them feel they're part of the team and to stay them motivated to
figure harder. They have to possess the experience HR department which
may hunt the proper talent for the proper job.

Recommendations:
 First of all Tom & Mary should learn that how to manage the employees and
bring some effective changes in their management system.
 Tom & Mary should enhance the positive environment where all staff works
properly.
 Tom & Mary should introduce proper Human Resource Department for
hiring and recruiting talented staffs.
 Tom & Mary should implement Performance Appraisals and yearly bonus in
order to overcome employee’s turnover problem.
 Tom & Mary should organize some motivational sessions to boast the
performances.
 Tom & Mary should distribute some responsibilities to their in order to gain
their trust and make strong bonding.
 Human Resource Department should apply memorandums and job
description to each and every staff of their hotel business.
