THE HUMAN SOUL

DARS ONE:

WHAT IS THE HUMAN SOUL?

And they ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: "The Ruh (the Spirit) :
it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you
(mankind) have been given only a little."

(Al-Isra 17:85)

This ayah was revealed when people asked him about the human soul.

Philosophers and Islamic scholars are intrigued about the human soul because it is a spiritual topic.

The scholar who covered this topic very thoroughly was Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (a student of Ibn
Taymiyyah).

Ibn Qayyim was questioned by his students about the human soul.

He replied the human soul is like the interior blue flame inside a fire.

If there is no blue flame in the charcoal then it is cold.

Much like a dead body, it becomes cold without the soul. But it is warm when the soul is still inside the
body.

So when there is a blue flame, the charcoal is hot.

A dead body has no soul, it is taken away by the Angel of Death.

QUESTION: WHAT WAS CREATED FIRST? THE BODY OR THE SOUL?

There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars regarding this question.

But the correct opinion is that the body was created first.

The hujjah for this is the hadith of Ibn Mas’ud.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud: Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬the true and truly inspired, narrated to us,
"The creation of everyone of you starts with the process of collecting the material for his body
within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick
blood for a similar period (40 days) and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period.
Then an angel is sent to him (by Allah) and the angel is allowed (ordered) to write four things; his
livelihood, his (date of) death, his deeds, and whether he will be a wretched one or a blessed one
(in the Hereafter) and then the soul is breathed into him.

So one of you may do (good) deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise so much that there is
nothing except a cubit between him and Paradise but then what has been written for him decides
his behavior and he starts doing (evil) deeds characteristic of the people of Hell (Fire) and
(ultimately) enters Hell (Fire); and one of you may do (evil) deeds characteristic of the people of
Hell (Fire) so much so that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Hell (Fire), then what
has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing (good) deeds characteristic of
the people of Paradise and ultimately) enters Paradise."

(See Hadith No. 430, Vol. 4) [Sahih al-Bukhari 7454 Book 97, Hadith 80]

The above hadith is the evidence used by Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’ah to say that the body was created
first.

The Hanbali use this hadith to justify abortion.

But abortion must be done before the first 6 weeks.

Prior to the first 6 weeks, the soul is yet to be blown into the baby.

Hence the Hanbali allow abortion.

THE SOUL WAS CREATED AND NOT ETERNAL

It is pagan believe that the soul is eternal.

The soul was created. The evidence is surah 76:1-3.

Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? Verily, We
have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to
try him, so We made him hearer, seer. Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or
ungrateful.

(Al-Insan 76:1-3)

The other evidence is surah 39:62

Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakil (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.)
over all things.

(Az-Zumar 39:62)

The soul is a thing so Allah (SWT) created everything.

So Allah (SWT) is the Creator for everything.

Allah (SWT) created four things with His Two Hands.

They are: the Arsh, the qalam, Adam, and Paradise.

Mujahid narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) said: “Allah created four things with His Hand; 1. The
Throne 2. The Pen 3. Adam and 4. The paradise of ‘Adn. He then said to the rest of the creation
‘Kun’ [Be] and it was.”

[Adh Dhahabi in ‘Mukhtasar al-‘Uluw’ (p105), Abu al-Shaikh al-Asbahani in 'al-‘Adhuma' (5/1555),
Tafsir al-Tabari (21/239), ‘The chain is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim.’]

As for other things Allah (SWT) says ‘Be’ and it is

THE FIVE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE BODY AND SOUL

1. When you were in your mother's womb.

Your mother had to breathe and eat for you.

2. When the umbilical cord is cut.

You become more independent, you breath for yourself.

3. When you are asleep.

Sleeping is the twin sister of death.

Allah (SWT) mentions this in surah 6:60

It is He, Who takes your souls by night (when you are asleep), and has knowledge of all that you
have done by day, then he raises (wakes) you up again that a term appointed (your life period) be
fulfilled, then in the end unto Him will be your return. Then He will inform you what you used to
do.

(Al-An'am 6:60)

Sometime when a person is sleeping, there is a separation between the body and the soul.

When the soul leaves the body it roams about.

If he sleeps with wudhu, his soul mixes with angels so he gets a good dream.

If he sleeps without wudhu, his soul mixes with jinns so he might get nightmares that are horrifying,
terrifying and petrifying.

Sometimes when you are sleeping, you soul roams about and get introduced to people and places, then
five years or ten years later you meet the people and you ask yourself I have seen this face before

“I have seen this place before”, “I have seen these buildings before”.

When you see the person in real life, it is a second meeting because your soul has already met the
person. This experience is called Déjà vu.

A good dream is 46 part of prophet hood.

Narrated Abu Said Al Khudri: “True dreams are one of the forty-six parts of Prophethood.”

[Al-Bukhaari: Vol: 9 Book 87 hadith: 118 (6472) and Muslim (4201)]

4. When you are in the barzakh.

The barzakh is the life of the grave.

There is life in the grave for everyone.

Your grave is either a garden from one of the gardens of Paradise or a pit from one of the pits of Hellfire.

Ali (RA) said the sahabas used to doubt the punishment of the grave until Allah (SWT) revealed Surah At-
Takāthur (Surah 102).

Ali (RA) narrated : We did not cease to doubt punishment in the grave till the surah was revealed:
Your rivalry in the accumulation of wealth diverts your minds. (102:1 etc.)

[Sunan Tirmidhi (Vol. 5 pg. 447) No. 3355]

Because there is life in the grave, some evil deviant (Shia, Sufi, and Barevli) pray to the inhabitants of the
grave.

The shaitan convinces them that the life of the barzakh is the same as that of the life of the dunya
because of this they become grave worshippers.

The people inside the grave can hear some things and some not.

The dead man is able to hear the footstep of all who attended his janaza.

When a individual is placed in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their
footsteps, two angels come to him, make him sit and ask: “What did you use to say regarding this
man (i.e. Muhammad, SAW)? The believer will say: “I bear testimony that he is the servant and
Messenger of Allah” It will be said to him: “Look at your place in the fire of Hell, Allah has
changed instead of it a place for you in Paradise” So he will see both of his places.

(Sahih al-Bukhari, no.1308 & Sahih Muslim, no. 2870)

Allah (SWT) blocks the dead from hearing your shirk, your kufur, your zandaqa, your polytheism, when
you make dua to them.
If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they
could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your
worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him Who is the All Knower
(of each and everything).

(Fatir 35:14)

So taking the above ayah into consideration, do not hesitate to make takfeer upon the grave worshippers.

When you call upon them, you are worshipping them. This is Allah (SWT) making takfeer in surah 35:14.

So the above ayah says that Allah (SWT) blocks your dua to the dead.

This is because your dua is an act of Ibadah.

Nu’man ibn Bashir (RA) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said, “The supplication is itself worship.”
Then he recited. And your Lord says, “Call upon Me, and I shall answer you. Surely those who are
too arrogant to worship Me, they shall enter Hell, disgraced.” (40: 60)

[Tirmidhi (5/456) No. 3372, Abu Dawud (2/76) No. 1479, Ibn Majah (5/5) No. 3828, Ahmad (4/271) No.
18410]

Another evidence is surah 39:3.

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take
Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say) : "We worship them only that they may bring us
near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly,
Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.

(Az-Zumar 39:3)

If you used an intermediary to call upon Allah (SWT), you are a liar and a kafir.

The prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) called Utba, Shayba, Umayya, Abu Jahl when they were killed
at the battle of Badr in the hadith below.

Narrated By Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet looked at the people of the well (the well in which the bodies
of the pagans killed in the Battle of Badr were thrown) and said, "Have you found true what your
Lord promised you?" Somebody said to him, "You are addressing dead people." He replied, "You
do not hear better than they but they cannot reply."
[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 23, Hadith #452]

Why didn’t Allah (SWT) block these from hearing the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)? Allah (SWT)
allowed them to hear the prophet speaking to them because the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was
not making dua to them

The prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was reminding them about the promise “I am coming to you to
slaughter you”

But when the body is lowered inside the grave, the dead can hear the footsteps of those who came to the
Janaza

But when you go to visit the grave a week later to beg the dead for things Allah (SWT) blocks them from
hearting you kufur, your shirk, your zandaqa.

5. When you are in paradise.

This is the most perfect connection between the body and soul.

You will become a new creation in paradise.

You shall be 33 years old and remain forever young.

Your wife will be the same age as you.

In paradise there is no body hair

Mu’az ibn Jabal (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, "The deserving will
enter Paradise hairless and beardless, their eyes as though collyrium was applied to them, (and
their ages) thirty or thirty-three years.”

[Tirmidhi 2554, Ahmed 22167]

There is no aging in paradise.

There is no beard for men.

There is no urination or defecation or menstruation in paradise.

There is no toilet in paradise

You won't even blow your nose.

There is no sleep.

In paradise there is no disappointment.

There is no envy or jealousy.

This will be the most excellent connection between body and soul.

There is not isms or schism in paradise.

So the fifth connection of body and soul is when you are in paradise and this the most perfect connection.

THE SOUL'S JOURNEY AFTER DEATH

The following hadith is used by the scholars to tell you what happens to your soul after death.

Upon the authority of al-Bara' ibn `Aazib who said: We went out with the the Prophet (SAW) to a
burial of a man from the Ansar (original inhabitants of Madina) until we arrived at the grave, and
he still had not been placed in the slot of the grave. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) sat down
and we sat around him. You would have thought that birds were upon our heads from our silence,
and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was a stick which he was poking the ground
with. [Then he started looking at the sky and looking at the earth and looking up down three
times]. Then he said to us: "Ask Allah for refuge from the torment of the grave", he repeated this
command two or three times. [Then he said O Allah I seek refuge in you from the torment of the
grave] three times]…

THE SOUL OF A BELIEVER

…Then he said: "Verily, the believing servant, when leaving this life and journeying to the
hereafter angels will descend upon him, their faces will be white as if they were suns, they will
have with them a shroud (kafan) from the shroud of Paradise), and an embalmment (HanouT) from
the embalmment's of heaven. Then, they will sit within eye-shot of him. Then the angel of death
(peace be upon him) will come and sit at his head and will say "O you virtuous soul; come out to a
forgiveness and a pleasure from your Lord ". So it will come out as a drop comes out of the mouth
of a jug (with ease), then he will take it, not leaving it in his hand for longer that a blink of an eye
until they (he and the other angels) have placed it in that shroud and that embalmment. And there
will emanate from it a smell like that of the most sweet smelling musk on the face of the earth.
Then they shall ascend with it, and they shall not pass with it by any group of angels but they will
say: What is this good and sweet-smelling soul?.Then they shall say to them (he is) "such" the
son of "such" choosing the best of the names he used to be called in this life. Until they reach the
lowest sky, then they shall ask permission to enter, and they shall be granted entry, until they end
at the seventh heaven sky, then Allah, exalted and high, shall say: "write the book of my servant
in `illiyeen (1) [And what will explain to you what Illiyeen is `illiyeen, there is a register fully
inscribed to which bear witness those nearest to Allah (see 83:18)], and his book will be written in
`illiyeen, and the shall be said "return him to the earth, for [I promised them] I have created them
from it, and into it I shall return them, and from it I shall extract (resurrect) them a second time
(20:55)"…

WHEN THE BELIEVER IS IN THE GRAVE

…So [he is returned to earth and] his soul is returned to his body [he said and he will hear the
footsteps of his friends who buried him when they leave him]. Then two [severe] angels shall
come and [terrify him and] sit him up next to them and shall ask him: "Who is your Lord?". He
shall reply "My Lord is Allah". Then they shall ask him: "What is your religion?". He shall answer
them: "My religion is Islam". Then they shall ask him "Who is this man who was sent among
you?". He will reply "He is the Messenger of Allah (SAW) peace be upon him". Then they shall ask
him "What have you done?". He shall reply: "I read the book of Allah, then I believed in it and
accepted it". [The angel will terrify him and ask him "who is your Lord?", "what is your religion?"
"who is your prophet?", and this will be the last trial on earth for the believer, it is then when Allah
says : "Allah will establish in strength those who believe with the word that stands firm in this
world", so he will answer my Lord is Allah, my religion is Islam and my Prophet is Mohammad
(SAW). Then a caller will call from the sky: "My slave has spoken the truth, so spread out for him
from the heaven, and clothe him from the heaven, and open a door for him from the heaven
(within his grave)", so it's goodness and its smell will come unto him, then his grave will be
expanded for him as far as he can see. Then a man will come to him. His face will be handsome,
and his clothes will be handsome, and his smell will be sweet. Then he shall say unto him: I bring
you glade tidings of that which will make you happy [Rejoice with a pleasure of Allah and delights
that endure]. This is the day that you were promised (46:16). Then he will say [and may Allah give
you glad tiding] "who are you?, for your face is the face of someone who comes with good news".
He shall reply: "I am your good deeds, [by Allah, I did not know of you but that you were quick to
the obedience of Allah and slow to His disobedience, so may Allah reward you good]". Then he
shall say: "My Lord bring the hour so that I might return to my family and my wealth" [it will be
said to him "be tranquil"]…

THE SOUL OF THE DISBELIEVER

He (Mohammed, SAW) said: ( And the disbelieving [transgressor/wicked] servant), if he is leaving

this life and journeying to the hereafter then angels will descend upon him, their faces will be
black, they have with them a coarse woollen fabric (sackcloth)[ made of fire]. Then they will sit
within eye-shot of him. Then the angel of death will come and sit at his head and will say "O you
wicked soul; come out to a anger from your Lord and a fury (from Him)". So it will be distributed
(spread out) throughout his body, then it will be ripped away as a skewer/spit is ripped out of
damp cotton [and in its way out it will tear and cut the nerves and blood vessels] [and then he will
be cursed by all the angels between the earth and the sky and by all the angels in the sky, and the
gates of heaven are closed. There is no gate in the heaven but its people supplicate that the
wicked soul shall not be ascended to their side], then he will take it (the soul), not leaving it in his
hand for longer than a blink of an eye until they have placed it in that sackcloth. And there will
emanate from it a stench like that of the most evil smelling corpse on the face of the earth. Then
they shall ascend with it, and they shall not pass with it by a group of angels but they will say:
What is this wicked soul?. Then they shall say to them (he is) "such" the son of "such" choosing
the most hated of the names he used to be called in this life. Until they reach the lowest heaven
(sky), then they shall ask permission to enter, and they shall not be granted entry. Then the
Messenger of Allah (SAW) recited "The doors of the sky are not opened to them, nor shall they
enter heaven until the camel passes through the eye of the needle" (7:40). Then Allah, exalted and
high, shall say: "write the book of my servant in Sijjeen (2)(83:7) in the lowest earth". [Then will be
said "return my slave to the earth, for I promised them I have created them from it, and into it I
shall return them, and from it I shall extract (resurrect) them a second time (20:55)"]. Then his soul
shall be taken away [from the sky] with a mighty hurl [until it is cast into his body]. Then he (the
Prophet, SAW) read: "and those who associate partners with Allah, They are as one who falls from
the sky then is snatched by the birds or is cast by the wind into a very low place (22:31)

Then his soul will be returned into his body, [he (the prophet) said : verily he will hear the
footsteps of his friends who buried him when they leave him]. Then two harsh severe and
fearsome angels shall come and [terrify him and] sit him up and shall ask him: "Who is your
Lord?". He shall reply "Huh?, Huh (this is an expression of sorrow), I don't know". Then they shall
ask him: "What is your religion?". He shall answer them: "Huh?, Huh?, I don't know". Then they
shall ask him "Who is this man who was sent among you?". He will reply "Huh?, Huh?, I don't
know [I heard people saying that!]". He (the Prophet, SAW) said "And then will be said to him don't
ever know and don't ever recite!"]. Then a caller will call from the sky: "My slave has spoken
falsely, so spread out for him from the hell fire, and open a door for him from the hell fire (within
his grave)", so its heat and hot wind will come unto him, then his grave will be contracted upon
him until his limbs are caught up among one another. Then a man will come to him. His face will
be ugly, and his clothes will be ugly, and his smell will be vile. Then he shall say unto him: I bring
you tidings of that which will harm you. This is the day that you were promised (70:44). Then he
will say [and you, may Allah give you bad tiding] "who are you?, for your face is the face of
someone who comes with evil". He shall reply: "I am your evil deeds [by Allah, I did not know of
you but that you were quick to the disobedience of Allah and slow to His obedience, so may Allah
reward you bad, and then will be assigned to him a blind, deaf and mute person who holds in his
hand a hammer, if a mountain is hit with it, it would disintegrate, and he will beat him with it until
he becomes dust, and then Allah will render him to his initial form, and he will beat him again, and
he (the wicked) will cry of sorrow and pain a cry that will be heard by all creatures except humans
and jinn, and a door of hell will be opened unto him within his grave and will spread out for him
sheets of hell fire]". Then he shall say: "My Lord do not bring the hour".

[This hadith is narrated by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, at-Tayalisi, and al-Hakim
who said it is according to the standards of Bukhari and Muslim.]

So there is two journey of the soul.

One is the believing soul and the other is kafir soul.

The souls of the believer are in birds the fly around in paradise. And they eat from the fruits of paradise.

So there is always a connection between the body and the soul.

The soul will return to your body in the grave to answer the three questions of the angel (Who is your
Lord? Who is your prophet? What is your religion?).

When the kafir is not able to answer these questions, the angels Munkar and Nakir will hit him with a
hammer.

If they shall hit the tallest mountain with this hammer, it will be turned into dust particle.

There is a hadith about the Angel of Death who visited Musa (AS).

And Musa (as) punched him and knocked out his eye.

Because Musa (as) didn't want to die.

Allah (SWT) order Musa (AS) to put his hand on an ox.

And the amount of hair under his hand will be his life span.

Narrated By Abu Huraira: The angel of death was sent to Moses and when he went to him, Moses
slapped him severely, spoiling one of his eyes. The angel went back to his Lord, and said, "You
sent me to a slave who does not want to die." Allah restored his eye and said, "Go back and tell
him (i.e. Moses) to place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live for a
number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his hand." (So the angel came to him
and told him the same). Then Moses asked, "O my Lord! What will be then?" He said, "Death will
be then." He said, "(Let it be) now." He asked Allah that He bring him near the Sacred Land at a
distance of a stone's throw. Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Were I there I would show you the grave
of Moses by the way near the red sand hill."

[Al-Bukhari (1339) and Muslim (2372)]

So the scholar say there is 3 reason for Musa (AS) to punch the angel of death.

a) He feared death like all of us

b) He wanted his grave to be unknown

c) He wanted to die in a sacred land and not in an ordinary land

Imam Bukhari preferred the third opinion as the most accurate.

Umar (RA) made dua to die in the city of Muhammed (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

Narrated: Zayd ibn Aslam from his father, Umar said, O Allah! Grant me martyrdom in Your cause,
and let my death be in the city of Your Apostle."

{Sahih Bukhari (3/23) No. 1890] & Bukhari: Vol. 3, Book 30, Hadith 114}

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RUH AND NAFS

The nafs means the blood in your system and also means the evil eye.

The nafs also means yourself.

Evidence is surah 24:61

But when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah (i.e. say: As-Salamu
'Alaikum - peace be on you) blessed and good. Thus Allah makes clear the Ayat (these Verses or
your religious symbols and signs, etc.) to you that you may understand.

(An-Nur 24:61)

WHAT IS THE RUH

Ruh doesn't refer to the soul when the soul is inside the body.

When the soul is inside the body it is called the nafs.

When the soul is outside the body it is called the ruh.

Umm Salamah reported: "Allah's Messenger entered upon Abu Salamah (i.e. his corpse), whose
eyes were wide open. The Prophet closed the lids and then said, 'When the ruh (spirit) is taken
out, the eyesight follows it (i.e., watches it ascend).

[Sahih Muslim (2/634) No. 920, Musnad Ahmad (6/297) No. 26585]

So the eyes follow the soul.

Another meaning for the ruh is the angel Gabriel. The ruh is the holyspirit, angel Gabriel.

There is only one holyspirit that is angel Gabriel.

Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) And what will make you
know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a
thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand
months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by
Allah's Permission with all Decrees, Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from
Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.

(Al-Qadr 97:1-5)

This is the Surah where Allah (SWT) refers to Gabriel as the Ruh.

Ruh also means iman.

Allah (SWT) helps you with Ruh in surah 58:22.

You (O Muhammad SAW) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making
friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW ), even though they
were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has
written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance)
from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell
therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily,
it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful.

(Al-Mujadilah 58:22)

In the above ayah Allah (SWT) refers to the ruh as the hujjah, the light, and divine guidance.
Whenever a person is dying, you should only allow righteous people in the room with him.

Because when Abu Talib was dying Abu Jahl was in the room and he convinced him to die as a
kafir.

Narrated by Saeed bin Al-Musaiyyab from his father who said: “when the time of death of Abu
Talib approached, Allah’s Apostle(saw) went to him and found Abu Jahl bin Hisham and Abdullah
bin Abi Umayyia by his side. Allah’s Apostle said to Abu Talib, ‘O uncle! Say: None has the right
to be worshipped except Allah (La ilaha illAllah), a sentence with which I shall be a witness i.e.
intercede for you before Allah’. Abu Jahl and Abdullah ibn Umaiyya said, ‘O Abu Talib! Are you
going to denounce the religion of your father Abdul Muttalib?’, Allah’s Apostle kept on inviting
Abu Talib to say ‘Laa ilaha illAllah’ (i.e. None has the right to Worshipped except Allah) while they
Abu Jahl and Abdullah kept on repeating their statement till Abu Talib said as his last statement
that he was on the religion of his father Abdul Muttalib and thus he refused to say ‘None has the
right to be worshipped except Allah’ (La ilaha illAllah).

(Sahih Bukhari(Arabic/English) Vol.2 pg.248 No.442)

THE HUMAN SOUL

{THE 17 SIGNS INDICATING THAT A PERSON DIED A GOOD DEATH}

MARCH 26 2014 / 25 JUM AL AWWAL 1435 HIJRI

DARS TWO

1. THE PERSON WHO RECITED THE SHAHADA BEFORE DEATH.

Muadh Ibn Jabal (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "He whose last words (in life)
were 'La ilaha-ill Allah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) shall enter Paradise”

[Sunan Abu Dawud (2/207) No. 3116, Musnad al-Bazzar (7/77) No. 2626, Tabarani in ‘al-Mu’jam al-
Kabir’ (20/112) No. 221, Mustadrak al-Hakim (1/503) No. 1299]

2. THE PERSON WHO DIED ON THE BATTLE FIELD.

The prophet's (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) uncle died on the battlefield, also his cousin Jaffar (RA).

THE SHAHEED HAS six FAVORS WITH ALLAH.

Miqdam ibn Ma’dikarib (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “There are with Allah six
blessings for the martyr. [1] He is forgiven with the first drop of blood. [2] He is shown his abode
in paradise. [3] He is preserved from the torment of the grave and is safe from the great fear on
the Day of Resurrection. [4] A crown of honour ingrained with pearl is placed on his head, which
is better than the world and what it contains. [5] He is married to seventy-two maidens (huris) of
paradise. [6] His intercession for his seventy relatives is accepted.”

[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/187-188) No. 1663, Musnad Ahmad (4/131) No. 17221, Sunan Ibn Majah (4/82)
No. 2799]

3. SOMEONE WHO DIES ON A SACRED JOURNEY.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) as saying: There was a person before you
who had killed ninety-nine persons and then made an inquiry about the learned persons of the
world (who could show him the way to salvation). He was directed to a monk. He came to him and
told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for
his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred.
He then asked about the learned persons of the earth and he was directed to a scholar, and he
told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for
his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You
better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to prayer and worship and you also
worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land (for you).
So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there
was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy
said: This man has come as a penitent and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said:
He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order
to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn near. They
measured it and found him nearer to the and where he intended to go (the land of piety), and so
the angels of mercy took possession of it. Qatada said that Hasan told him that it was said to them
that as death approached him, he crawled upon his chest (and managed) to slip in the land of
mercy.

[Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Hadith #6662]

This hadith proves that when you die on a sacred journey, it is a good death.

If you go out seeking for Islamic knowledge to Makkah to study and die, then that is also a good death.

4. DEATH DUE TO AN EPIDEMIC.

Jabir ibn 'Utaik reported that Allah's Messenger said: "There are seven kinds of martyrs besides

9. A person who got crushed by falling debris.

Jabir ibn 'Utaik reported that Allah's Messenger said: "There are seven kinds of martyrs besides
those killed in the cause of Allah: 6. a person who dies under falling debris (in a disaster),

[Ahmad, Abu Daw'ud and Nasa'i report this hadith based on sound authority]

10. The man who died defending his property.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and
said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes wanting to take my property? He
said: “Do not give him your property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He
said: What if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill him? He said:
“He will be in Hell.”

[Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 124) No. 140]

11. A person who dies defending himself/herself.

Sa’eed ibn Zayd (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “He who is killed in defence of
his property is a martyr. He who is killed in self-defence is a martyr.

[Abu Dawud 4772, Nisai 4102, Ibn e Majah 2580, Ahmed 1652, Tirmidhi 1426]

13. The person who died defending his/her religion.

Sa’eed ibn Zayd (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, He who is killed in defence of
his religion is a martyr.

[Abu Dawud 4772, Nisai 4102, Ibn e Majah 2580, Ahmed 1652, Tirmidhi 1426]

The proof is in the above-mentioned hadith.

14. The person who dies on a Friday.

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “No Muslim dies on the day of
Friday or the night of Friday but Allah protects him from the trial in the grave.”

[Sunan Tirmidhi (3/386) No. 1074, Musnad Ahmad (2/169) No. 6582]

15. The person who died in Madina.

Ibn Umar (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “If anyone can die in Madinah, let him die
there for, I will intercede for one who dies there.”

16. A person who died with sweat on his forehead.

Abdullah ibn Buraydah (RA) reported on the authority of his father that the Prophet (SAW) said,
“The Believer dies with sweat on his forehead.”

[Sunan Tirmidhi (3/310) No. 982, Musnad Ahmad (5/360) No. 23097, Sunan Nasa'i (4/6) No. 1829,
Sunan Ibn Majah (2/442) No. 1452]

17. A person who died during an act of piety.

Examples: Salah, Zakah, Hajj, Umrah, Ribat

A man was with the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) on hajj and he fell down and broke his neck

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: While a man was riding (his Mount) in 'Arafat, he fell down from it (his
Mount) and broke his neck (and died). The Prophet said, "Wash him with water and Sidr and
shroud him in two pieces of cloth, and neither perfume him, nor cover his head, for he will be
resurrected on the Day of Resurrection saying, 'Labbaik,' (i.e. like a pilgrim)."

[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 23, Hadith #355]

If you died doing an act of piety it is a sign of piety

These are the 17 signs indicating that a person died a good death.

THE THREE TYPES OF SOUL

The human soul is called the nafs when it is inside the body.

And when it is outside the body, it is called the ruh.

The first type of soul is called nafs Lawwamah.

The nafs Lawwamah means the rebuking soul.

It urges you to do tawbah if you do haram and stay away from evil.
Narrated By 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud the Prophet (SAW) saying: "A believer sees his sins as if he
were sitting under a mountain which, he is afraid, may fall on him; whereas the wicked person
considers his sins as flies passing over his nose and he just drives them away like this." [Sahih
Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 75, Hadith #320]

The second type of soul is nafs Ammara.

This soul that is prone to evil.

The above-mentioned hadith talks about nafs Lawwamah and nafs Ammara.

The believer whose sins bothers him, his nafs is called Lawwamah.

The kafir who sees his sins as something trivial, his nafs is called ammara.

The person with nafs ammara age rapidly.

His life is called maeesha dankaa.

It is a miserable life, wretched life and stressful life. A life of mental depression.

A person with nafs ammara live life on anti-depression medication.

Sometime they suffer a nervous breakdown.

Sometime they end up in a mental hospital.

Sometime they hear voices of shayateen. The voice of Iblees himself.

So as a result, they age quickly.

They experiment with all type of drugs like Marijuana, Ecstasy, Speed in search of happiness,

But their happiness is delusional.

The drug is called escapism; they are seeking to escape from their mental depression.

Allah (SWT) made them a promise in surah 20:124-126.

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its
orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of
Resurrection." He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight
(before)." (Allah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs,
revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply
in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire,
away from Allah's Mercy)."

(Ta-Ha 20:124-126)

A person who doesn’t practice Allah's deen, the shaytaan becomes his intimate companion and whispers
to him/her.

And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah)
(i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan devil) to be a Qarin (an
intimate companion) to him.

(Az-Zukhruf 43:36)

And he becomes his personal companion a qareen

Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said:There is none amongst you with
whom is not an attached from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah's
Messenger, with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am
safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good.

{Sahih Muslim Book 39 Hadith 6757} {Book 52 Hadith 62}

So those who don't practice Allah's religion hear voices.

Because they hear voices, they are classified as suffering from schizophrenia.

Because of these voices, some of them become prostitutes, drug addicts, homosexuals, bisexuals etc

The shaitan then laughs at them because he is on a warpath with us. He celebrates your spiritual down
fall because Allah (SWT) preferred you over him (Iblees).

Shaitan made his threat in surah 4:119.

Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse in them false desires; and certainly, I will order
them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah."
And whoever takes Shaitan (Satan) as a Wali (protector or helper) instead of Allah, has surely
suffered a manifest loss.
(An-Nisa 4:119)

In the above ayah, the shaytaan promised to turn man into human garbage and drive them to commit evil
sins.

[Iblis (Satan)] said: "See? This one whom You have honored above me, if You give me respite
(keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by
sending them astray) all but a few!" (Allah) said: "Go, and whosoever of them follows you, surely!
Hell will be the recompense of you (all) an ample recompense.

(Al-Isra 17:62-63)

The shaitan wants to prove that Allah (SWT) made a mistake to prefer man over him.

Some example of those who have nafs ammara are Ariel Sharon, Joseph Stalin, Tony Blair, and George
Bush.

They can kill an entire nation without conscience.

Another good example of nafs ammara is Pol Pot.

Psychologists say he was a midget and had a small penis so he held a grudge against humanity.

Pol Pot and Stalin were communist.

Bush was a democrat.

Tony Blair was also a democrat.

Democrat meaning they believe in democracy.

All of them committed genocide against humanity.

Democracy is the religion of freemason and the satan, their god is hawa.

Hawa is evil and corrupted desires.

Evidence is surah 45:23.

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him
as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who
then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?

(Al-Jathiyah 45:23)

So they take their evil desires as their god.

In Denmark, they even rape animals.

There is an incident where a group of people raped a dog.

They have animal brothel.

These are the same people who insulted the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) so Allah (SWT)
disgraced them.

They insulted the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) with cartoons and now they are disgraced by Allah
(SWT).

They have now become a nation of human garbage, human devils.

They were the first nation to have animal brothels.

When you speak the truth, they accuse you of speaking hate.

They have become a cursed nation because when you insult Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)
you insult Allah (SWT).

The third soul is called nafs Mutma'innah.

This is the peaceful soul, the tranquil soul.

Allah (SWT) spoke about this soul in 89:27-30

(It will be said to the pious) : "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! "Come back to
your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! "Enter you, then, among My
honored slaves, "And enter you My Paradise!"

(Al-Fajr 89:27-30)
The person with the tranquil soul is able to sleep at night.

They don't suffer from insomnia.

They don’t need anti depressant tablets. If you need anti depressant tablets to sleep, your state is pitiful,
appalling and pathetic.

You claim to be a muslim and you go to a shrink (psychiatrist).

They don't visit the psychiatrist.

A person with nafs mutma'innah sometime they look ten years younger than their age.

Their ageing process is slow. This is because they are not suffering from a wretched life.

They don't hear voice because the shaytaan abstain from them.

The prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) told Umar when the shaitan sees him walking on one side of the
road, the shaitan walks on the other side.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if satan would encounter you in
the way he would certainly take a different way from that of yours.

[Sahih Muslim, Book 31, Hadith #5899]

They don't use anti-depression medication.

A person with nafs mutma'innah, they don't commit suicide.

If you Google the top countries with the highest rate of suicide, it will be kafir countries on the top of the
list.

If you Google top countries with high rate of murder, it will again be kafir countries.

In Japan, they even have a suicide forest for you to kill yourself.

The person with nafs mutma'innah doesn't suffer from a nervous breakdown.

He is happy with his life.

He doesn't suffer from impotence.

He doesn't depend on drugs in pursuit of happiness.

He also doesn't end up in a mental hospital.

He doesn't need a kafir psychiatrist to tell him how to live his life.

The person with nafs mutma'innah, they are pious and get true dreams.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “True dreams are one of the
forty-six parts of Prophet hood.”

[Al-Bukhari (6989) and Muslim (2263)]

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that the Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "All that will be left of prophecy after me are
the mubashshirat." They said, "What are the mubashshirat, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The
true dream which a man who is salih sees - or which is shown to him - is a forty-sixth part of
prophecy."
