NO EMBER LER HE CREA OR
T ler, The Creator is a rapper ho is kno n for his alt hip hop music.
Four out of si of his albums have reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts
and he designs and runs his clothing brand 'GOLF WANG'.

"Tell me, hat's our November? Is it a person?"

The hole idea of this song is nostalgia. November represents a time,

an e perience, or a person that e miss. When I first heard this song,
the l rics hit SO HARD and I thought about the happiest point in m
life. This song is about his insecurities and ho his fame affected his
mental health, hich is often 'taboo' to talk about.

"Take me back, take me back to November, this I kno

'M November is right no .'"

You never kno ou are living in our November until after it's over.
Da dreaming that ou are back in our November is a fun but
dangerous slope as it consumes our thoughts and makes ou obsess
E B (2017) over the past. He repeats 'take me back' multiple times throughout the
INK song until he decides that he can make the present his ne November.

IF O LEA E ME NO CHICAGO
'If You Leave Me No ' topped the US Charts for t o eeks hen it as
first released in 1976. It on the group a Gramm for Best
Arrangement Accompan ing Vocalist and Best Pop Vocal Performance.
It's a classic love ballad here Peter Cetera is begging the love of his
life to not leave him. The clima of the song has an instrumental
interlude and then goes,

"A love like ours is love that's hard to find

Ho could e let it slip a a ?
We've come too far to leave it all behind
Ho could e end it all this a ?
When tomorro comes and e'll both regret
The things e said toda "

There asn't a big social impact or connection that this song has,
besides the fact that Apple as founded this ear. Ho ever, since its
release, it has been featured in several movies. I love the ja /soft
rock vibe it gives and the instrumental interlude is SO PRETTY.

LE S L LLAB RI MOMEN
Ritt Momne originall started as an indie rock band of high school
friends (one of these being m sister's fiance). It became a solo project
for Jack Rutter after his friends left on LDS missions and his girlfriend
left for college, hence the album name, "Her and All M Friends". It is
an incredibl ra telling of him and his dealings ith loss and a drift
a a from his church. Throughout the last ear, m mental health as
on a stead decline. After the cancellation of school, I atched as each
of m best friends left one b one, to missions, to college, to a ne
chapter of their lives. I felt abandoned as ever one seemed to be
moving on e cept for me. There is a part of the song that goes,

"Off to college toda , M first school ithout friends

Here's m chance to start over, Here's m chance to pretend
That I'm not quite as sad, As m music lets on
And I'm not quite as madl , In love ith someone"

I put enormous amounts of pressure on m self to al a s be positive,

be happ , and be perfect. This song as hat made me reali e m
E A DA E D (2019) loneliness and an iet as I as entering m senior ear.

HIS IS AMERICA CHILDISH GAMBINO
This Is America e plores man darker themes of racism and violence
that are happening in our countr . When the music video as first
released, it racked up over 13 million vie s in less than 24 hours,
leaving vie ers to speculate on hat the video meant.

Glover's character is made to represent hite culture and its

oppression to ards black people. He impersonates a Jim Cro
caricature before shooting an innocent victim. The victim falls to the
floor and no one bats an e e, but the gun is treated ith e treme care.
Another part of the video represents the 2015 Charleston Church
shootings as he murders a choir and then alks a a .

Throughout, Glover continues to dance ith a group of teens to mock

America for ignoring its dail violence. Some are in riots hile others
choose to blatantl ignore hat's happening around them. Childish
Gambino has al a s been a favorite of mine, but his abilit to e press
such a po erful idea in his video is hat makes this song so impactful.

George Harrison rote this song during a ver difficult period of his life
as he ent through surger , as arrested, and learned his mother as
suffering from terminal cancer. The sun not onl represents the literal
sun but the idea of light and hope. It is a song to inspire happiness as

Little darling, it feels like ears since it's been here"

over 300 million records. He has a blend of pop and rock st les, ith
his first album making him an international star. The co- riter of this
song, Bernie Taupin, originall rote this directing a relationship
break-up, but it has since been interpreted in multiple a s. The
chorus of the song goes,

"Don't ou kno I'm still standing better than I ever did

Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of m life ithout ou on m mind"

This is kno n to be Elton John's clap-back to ards those ho said he

as losing his relevanc . Truthfull , I had never heard this song until
the 2016 film 'Sing' came out and I as instantl obsessed. This song is
