Codes and concoctions of comedy

In my opinion the comedy genre exaggerates a situation especially in the parody genre.
Comedies look at the faults of films and turn them into comedic situations giving an
escape from day-to-day life. They usually have happy endings, although the humour may
have a serious or sad side. Codes are signs which have the potential for different meanings
and conventions are arrangements that become habitual and accepted. I have notice in
comedy films that they have characters that are sad and give comedic relief from their
sadness. Sounds for comedy are mainly exaggerated along with the music being cheerful.

Key Practitioners of comedy

Edgar Howard Wright was born on 18th April 1974 he is an English film director,
screenwriter and producer. One of his known comedy films was Shaun of the dead Where
he used shot types barely used in other films, yet Edgar Wright is known for where he has
quick and fast shots from one scene to another to symbolise travelling. He uses energetic
music in his films for moments of action. His movies plots centre around a single character
and a few companions that at the start are having a good time which ends up being ruined
by something which in the case for Shaun of the dead is a zombie outbreak.

History

Comedy is a genre of literature in which the purpose is to amuse the audience. Often
comedies focus on unpleasantness and sadness, but the ending is always happy. The first
portrays a simple practical joke in which a gardener is tormented by a boy who steps on
the hose that the gardener is using to water his plants, cutting off the water flow

Conclusion

In conclusion I have learned a lot of skills and general knowledge about the creative art
media, and I am going use all my skills and knowledge in my final project. One of the most
helpful things I have learned is how to take control of the camera and the angles to help
you get better shots whilst filming. Another most helpful thing I have learned is how to
edit and add audio which I need to know to make my films look fun and interesting.
For my final project I am planning to use all the locations I can use in lockdown for an
example use a hole house and the garden to get the audience the image I want them to
see and make the film really clear in their heads without dialog.
