Managing and Caring for the Self (Taking Charge of the Self)

Taking Charge of the Self is basically taking care of ourselves. Stress is a feeling of
emotional or physical tension, we are all experiences stress, for me what’s makes me stress is the
environment, I’m not focusing on my task because of the noisy environment, second is not be
able on doing something or I have difficulties to do in something or I can’t understand on a
particular topic or in solving math, sometimes it makes me stress. There are Stressors and
Responses, first is the Evolutionary Origin, there is a theory, in past the example is a caveman or
the homo sapiens-sapiens your instinct is to survive or look for food, gather as many material as
many as you can to survive, the brain of our ancestors as they not evolve as our, for them if they
see a wild animal, either the animal will hunt them or an animal will have competence in them,
their body will respond, they will be flight or fight, every time we encounter a wild dog we tend
to be scared, that is called a physiological reaction of the body of these kind of threat. This flight
or fight response of the body is the normal physiological stressors of the body, this threat like
failing a test the body response to these physiological response. Any reaction to an abnormal
situation can be considered normal. This coping of a threat is a sign of Strength, the only
problem is if it will not change the way you experiencing a threat that’s a now a concern. When a
stressful situation occurs you will like experiencing coiled, if it will not strengthen immediately
when the next time when you will overcome stress again it will be more coiled, the more you will
leave hanging your stress it will harder for you to unwind or distress your stress. There are some
ways to coping our stress or doing something about yourself, first is identify your
strengths/resources, nowadays it is very important to identify our strength, what has been helping
you cope recently, this could be a person, hobby, for me this could were I get from my strength is
my family, in the world of full of stress I have my happiness is being with my family, or
sometimes I talk to my friends to release stress and also I watch K-drama and playing online
game, and most of all the solution of my stress that I have nothing to deal with it is through
praying, I pray most of the time in order to solve my problem and to release my stress, second is
practicing deep breaths, deep breathing is effective to cope stress, if you practice deep breathing
its practice your brain, by doing this your blood that circulating around your body will slowing
down, and your body will relax, this is very effective when doing it by applying when your
pressuring yourself when before you go to sleep by doing deep breathing. Third is reframing your
thoughts, basically reframing means try to change your perspective on things, when you try to
reframing your thoughts first you will identify faulty thoughts are, and acknowledge them,
sometimes I experience it that I tell to myself that I’m a dull person or stupid on something that it
may affects my all day mood, but I’m fighting on it by not judging myself, because there’s
nothing to do but be with it to myself and cheering up all day. Fourth is being active, it is normal
when you experiencing tiredness of everything but you need to overcome it, in order to continue
your journey, Science has actually proven that your mood that can actually follow your
behaviors, being more active can increase your energy level and also your mood. And last is
seeking social support is a way of coping your stress situation, I also do this to myself, I tend to
talk to my best friend about my doings in life and specially about problems in order to reduce my
stress, there was saying that no man is an island, it is true you will need someone to lean on. Also
I tend do this for other people by social support by being there when tough times or by giving
presence when they needed a friend to lean on.

My reflection on this topic is we should take care of our self, we need to love our self-first,
because there’s nothing in the world can save us but only our self, it is very relevant to myself
because I neglected myself for a long time, I usually taking other people than myself, and also
taking your health is your best assets on doing hard work things. It shows to my life our self is our
comfort zone and the best partner in all challenges. I realized that one of the major caused that I
feel dizzy or not concentrating things sometimes is because of my stress, in order to conquer it, is
to stop reacting on things, learn to support everybody, getting much more of sleep, stop taking
things personally. Positivity is so much mean to our self, we should be positive on life, and seeing
the positivity of life. A peaceful mind is so important because it can avoid stress, and try to get rid
of negative thoughts, when you have stress or problem it should be cut-off immediately because it
will be coiled and coiled, and if you have another problem and it will not solve right away it will
be now a concern because too much threat to your mind is dangerous.Theres many ways of
coping stress, I apply so many things on this topic, first is when I’m so stress, I paused everything
and do a cardiovascular activity like dancing to cope my stress, and another way is by spending
time to my friends, and specially to my family, we shared laughter together is the best bonding for
me.And another strategy to taking care of the self is developing our inner strength, we should
focus our strength by discovering the goods in our self in different ways, practicing deep breaths
is the key to manage stress, it could much help to relax our body from working on pressure. We
should need to take care our self to avoid not getting sick specially, our learning method is new
normal, and we should not let our immune system get low because when we’re having low
immune system it easier to obtain from sickness, we must know taking care of our mind and also
our health because it is the only stock that needs to be cautious in one’s self. I acquire that one
way of achieving your goals is having a healthy body.
