We provide specialist surveying services, including land surveys for developments and
design, 3D laser scanning of buildings, infrastructure & historic structures and structural
monitoring, not just in the construction sector but to all types of industry. We work in a
range of market sectors including energy, environment, buildings, archaeology, civil
engineering and oil & gas. Our clients include developers, contractors, local authorities,
government agencies and major institutions.

Our team of highly qualified and field-experienced surveyors undertakes survey design,
field work, data processing and presentation, and we are able to advise on almost all
aspects of surveying — from the survey of simple topographic features to complex
infrastructure projects involving high definition laser scanning and 3D modelling. We
also provide a consultancy service to assist in the specification or procurement and
management of a survey or investigation undertaken by others.

We undertake bespoke commissions for external clients and we also work alongside our
colleagues in the engineering, environmental and transport disciplines. Our approach is
to ensure that we add value in all we do and our work is underpinned by continuous
knowledge sharing.

with a project to interrogate 360 views with no requirement for downloading software.

opened in 1899. The pier head comprises structure
from three distinct periods. The central core is
constructed of Victorian cast iron screw piles

undertake detailed laser scanning surveys of 52 of
the 53 stations on the Piccadilly Line, one of
London Underground’s major arteries.

Ramboll has played a significant role in the Mersey
Gateway project, the central feature of the
significant highway improvements between the
M56 and Speke Road. It is a new six-lane cable-
stayed tolled bridge across the Mersey Estuary
between Runcorn and Widnes.

Built in 1856 — and rebuilt in 1915 — the 51-span
Arnside Viaduct carries the Carnforth to
Whitehaven railway over the River Kent estuary at
a point close to Morecambe Bay. Its deck had
suffered considerable deterioration and Network
Rail decided to replace it. Our transport engineers
undertook a Grip Stage 5 (Form B) design for the
superstructure, working closely with contractor
May Gurney.
