Phases of the Menstrual Cycle Description
The menstrual cycle is complex and
controlled by many different glands and
the hormones that these glands produce.
The four phases of the menstrual
cycle are menstruation, the
follicular phase, ovulation and the
luteal phase. Common menstrual problems
include heavy or painful periods and
premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

Stages of Labor Description
This allows the baby to move into the
birth canal. The first stage is the
longest of the three stages. It's actually
divided into two phases of its own —
early labor (latent phase) and
active labor.

Events in Ovarian Cycle Description
The ovarian cycle consists of three
phases: follicular (preovulatory) phase,
ovulation, and luteal (postovulatory)
phase, whereas the uterine cycle is
divided into menstruation, proliferative
(postmenstrual) phase and secretory
(premenstrual) phase.
