Instruction: Fill in the blanks on the given concept mapping.

A. The follicle stimulating hormone stimulates the Anterior Pituitary gland to release
Mature egg.
B. On the 13th day, estrogen level is high_ while the progesterone level is low_
C. The luteinizing hormone stimulates the ___________________ to release hormone
called Progesterone.
D. On the 14th day, estrogen level is low_ while the progesterone level is high_
____________________ it will cause rupture of graafian follicle known as
_____________________.
E. On the 15th day, after ovulation, graafian follicle starts to generate becoming Corpus
Luteum.
F. On the 24th day, if the fertilization will not happen corpus luteum degenerates turning
whitish endocrine called ____________________.
G. On the 28th day, if no fertilization occurs, it will lead to _______________________.
H. Give the three ovarian histology or phases that will develop in the menstrual cycle
Follicular Phase
Ovulation Phase

Phases of
Menstrual
Cycle

1. Menstrual phase
 This is the “period” when the endometrium or lining of the uterus sheds over 3-7
days if there is no pregnancy.
2. Follicular phase
 This is when several eggs mature inside small cyst or follicles.
3. Ovulation phase
 This is when an egg is released from the biggest follicles and travels through the
fallopian tube. Where it can be fertilized. If it is not fertilized, it dissolves in about
24-48 hours.
4. Luteal phase
 This is when the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) is thick and prepared to
support a pregnancy or be released in a period.
ACTIVITY 4. MODULE 3A
Writing to Learn Worksheet
Summary sheet:
Date: August 29, 2020
Name: Uli, Rujiyana P.
Year and section: 2-D
Topic; ANTEPARTUM/ PREGNANCY

1. Explain the process of fetal circulation.

Fetal circulation differs from the postpartum circulation to accommodation the interaction
of the fetus and mother through the placenta and umbilical cord. Blood flow in the unborn baby
follows this pathway: oxygen and nutrients from the mother’s blood are transferred across the
placenta to the fetus through the umbilical cord. This enriched blood flows through the umbilical
vein toward the baby's liver.

2. Discuss the role of the Reproductive system in conception.

The reproductive system is a collection of organs and a network of hormone reproduction

that work together to create life. The female reproductive system is designed: to produce the eggs
necessary for reproduction called the (ovum is singular for one egg) or oocytes. Both male and
female reproductive system must be functioning properly for a couple to conceive naturally. A
problem with the structure of function of either reproductive system can cause infertility.

3. Describe how the products of conception develops and takes shape.

ACTIVITY NO. 5 / MODULE 3A
Summary Sheet (Short Bond Paper)
Sub-topic: MILESTONES OF FETAL DEVELOPMENT
Reference: Murray, S.S. & et am (2002). Foundation of Maternal Newborn Nursing (4th edition).
Philadelphia: Saunders Elsevier
Name:Uli, Rujiyana P.
Year & Section: 2-D

1. What is the topic about?

It is about the fetal development that begins soon after conception. A woman reaches
several milestones thought out her pregnancy, and they differ every trimester. First trimester it is
during the first three months of pregnancy, the baby's basic organs system begins to develop.
Second trimester many mothers feel more energetic and have less nausea-through some
experience more headaches. Third trimester try to stay active during this period. You may feel
some tightness in the uterus that are preparations in the uterus for labor.

2. What new information did you learn from the topic? Include new terms and their
meanings.
The new information did I learned in this topic is the pregnancy divided into three
trimesters that each trimester last between 12 and 14 weeks, or about 3 months in which different
phases of fetal development take place.

3. Which of the new information is most significant to you? Why?

The most significant information to me is the Milestones of Fetal Development because
this stage is marked by amazing change and growth. The fetal period of prenatal develop marks
more important changes in the brain. The early body systems and structures established in the
embryonic stage continue to develop.

Activity 6 (Module 3A)

Sub-topic: FERTILIZATION
Graphic Organizer
Instruction: The letters KWL are an acronym for “what to know”, “what I want to know”, and
“what I learned”. A modified KWL table is typically divided into three columns titled Know,
Want and Learned. In each column indicate information/concepts that you “what to know”,
“what I want to know”, and “what I learned” on the topic Mobility/Activity.

What I know What I want to know What I learned

Fertilization is the I want to know that how I I learned in this topic is

process of combining apply this in the future that how a birth of new born
the male or “sperm” I could maintain the starts a process called
with the female gamete healthy of becoming fertilization, which is
or ‘ovum.” When pregnant mother. joining of an egg and a
sperms come in contact sperm. So, fertilization is
with an egg, one of the the first step of pregnancy.
sperms may fuse the
egg. Such fusion of the
egg and the sperm is
called Fertilization.
