ASSIGNMENT 2: POOL & WATER

SBEZ 4523 ADVANCED LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION IV (SEMESTER 2: 2020/2021)

GROUP WORK: MARKS: 25% (MAX 2 MEMBERS IN ONE GROUP)

* Small scale project (fish pond/ fountain) – individual; depend on the SCALE of water feature
project.

1. You are required to select one of the following pool and fountain case study which located
at hotel/ service apartment/ institution/ resort/ office etc.
a) Swimming pool / Wading pool (for children); (3 Groups)
b) Fish pond; (2 Groups)
c) Fountain/ other water feature (with appropriate scale) (2 Groups)

2. The description of your case study should be including as following details;

a. A case study background
b. Design brief / concept for pool/ fountain/ fish pond
c. Description on how the pool system works by explaining the details on;
d. Structural requirement
e. Pumping system
f. Filtration system
g. Piping system
h. Electrical conduit
i. Lighting design
j. Landscape features (hardscape and softscape)
k. Pool or fountain maintenance or services.

3. Illustrates swimming pool/ fish pond / fountain layout plan and also the detail hand
draws section (minimum 2 sections). Each section's drawing must have labelling (specification)
and legend.

4. Prepare 3D images (Maximum 2 views) or photos to demonstrate the overview of pool

and fountain. All the 3D images and photos should include the meaningful captions or text
labelling.

5. All presentation drawings submission is in the softcopy (PDFT format) (Maximum 4 A2 size
panels/ boards).

6. Write a review conclusion in the final part of your assignment based on the comment of
pool/ water feature design.

7. Reference list (APA format citation)

8. Video presentation: you are required to record a video when you conduct the pool or
water feature’s case study.
