Big Hero 6 tells the story of a teenage genius named Hiro Hamada who likes
to make robots and live in the imaginary city of portmanteau San Fransokyo (a
combination of San Francisco and Tokyo). He channeled his robotics skills in the
arena of illegal robot battles and initially insulted the college world that his brother
(Tadashi) was living in.

But Hiro's view changed after Tadashi took him to the campus laboratory and became
acquainted with his brother's friends who were carrying out extraordinary
experiments about the use of science and technology. Tadashi introduces Baymax, his
inflatable robot, which functions like a smart nurse who serves the health of his
patients. Especially in the Hiro lab, he met with Prof. Callaghan, head of the highly
respected lab in the world of robotics for his work.
In order to be accepted as a student, Hiro participates in work tournaments by
making mentally controlled microrobots, which can be combined into shapes as
imagined. But the tournament broke his heart. Although Hira's microbot was greeted
with fanfare, she had to lose her brother, Tadashi, who was killed in an explosion in
the exhibition hall.

A few weeks later, depressed Hiro, in mourning for the deaths of Callaghan
and Tadashi, inadvertently activates Baymax, the inflatable health care robot created
by Tadashi after accidentally hurting his toe; the two find the only remaining
microbot Hiro and follow him to the abandoned warehouse. There they found that
someone had mass-produced microbots, and was attacked by a man wearing a Kabuki
mask who controlled them. After they escape, Hiro suspects that the fire claiming his
brother may have been unintentional and was even started by a man in a kabuki mask
to cover up the theft of a microbot; seeking revenge, Hiro equips Baymax with armor
and battle chips containing various karate movements, and they track the masked man
to the dock. Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred arrive, responding to a call
from Baymax, and the masked man chases the group. Six escape to Fred's house,
where they decide to form a high-tech superhero team to fight the villains: Big Hero
6.
The group tracks masked men, whom they suspect of being Krei, to the
abandoned Krei Tech laboratory that is used for teleportation research until a test
pilot is lost in an accident. The masked man attacked, but the group delayed him and
knocked down his mask - claiming he was Callaghan, who had stolen and used Hiro's
microrobots to protect himself from the explosion that killed Tadashi. Angered by the
discovery that Tadashi had died in vain, Hiro took out the Baymax health care chip,
leaving only the battle chips, and ordered him to kill Callaghan. Honey reinstalled the
health care chip at the last second, preventing Baymax from carrying out a murder
order. Callaghan almost escaped, and Hiro left with Baymax, intending to avenge
Tadashi.
Back home, Hiro fixes the broken robot scanner and tries to erase the health
care chip again, but Baymax blocks his access port, disobeying his orders and
stopping him, stating that retaliation is not what Tadashi wants. To calm him down,
Baymax shows a Hiro video from Tadashi that runs various tests during the
development of Baymax as a demonstration of Tadashi's goodness and legacy. Hiro
regretfully apologizes to his friends, who assure him that they will catch Callaghan
the right way.
Video footage from a laboratory accident revealed that the missing test pilot
was Callaghan's daughter, Abigail, and that Callaghan took revenge on Krei.
Callaghan interrupted Krei at a public event and attempted to destroy his headquarters
using the Krei teleportation portal. After a long battle, the team takes out microbes
and masks from Callaghan, saving Krei, but the portal remains active. Baymax
detects Abigail inside, alive but in a deep sleep state, and jumps into the portal with
Hiro to save him. They find Abigail's pod, but on the way back, Baymax is hit by
debris, damages his armor and paralyzes his reinforcement. With no choice but to
sacrifice himself, Baymax activates his rocket fist, and asks Hiro if he is satisfied
with his treatment to deactivate it, surprising Hiro, but Baymax convinces him to do
so, saying that he will always do it. with himher. Hiro tearfully agreed, and after a sad
farewell, Baymax fired his rocket before deactivating it, pushing Hiro and Abigail
back through the portal before closing, but he remained trapped in an unstable and
dead portal. Abigail was taken to hospital while Callaghan was forcibly arrested.

The supporting cast are characterised well, even if they do not have as much
screen time as our two leads. My only complaint with the film is its length. Unlike
the slow-moving Baymax, the film hurtles towards the conclusion of the story like a
freight train, leaving me, while thoroughly entertained, feeling like I had missed out
on what could have been some brilliant additional scenes. I wanted to see the cast use
their superpowers more, I wanted to see the gang working at school, as well as more
of the city called San Fransokyo, a depiction of San Francisco by way of Japan.
Hopefully Disney will add these in two the definitive sequel, but it would have been
nice to see them here.
