PROJECTILE MOTION

Projectile – an object launched into space without motive power of its own.

Trajectory – the path travelled by the projectile.

Range – the total displacement travelled by the object in a projectile motion (x-value).

Height – the total height travelled by the object in a projectile motion (y-value).

Sample Problem:
A projectile is fired with an initial velocity of 80 m/s at an angle of 30o above the
horizontal. Find: (a) its position and velocity after 6 s and (b) the time required for it to
reach maximum height.
