OPENING PRAYER

Almighty God, we know that everything is in Your sovereign control. We ask with all the power in our
minds and hearts that You keep this novel coronavirus from continuing to spread.

O Merciful God, our true physician and healer, be present now to people who need Your loving touch
because of COVID-19. May they feel Your power of healing through the care of doctors and nurses. Take
away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment, whether at home or in
the hospital or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others
from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.

May we act with humility to not just preserve our own safety and health, but to look beyond ourselves
and think of how our actions will affect others.

O Wisdom God, You teach us the ways of truth. Give us who teach the wisdom and knowledge to know
how to reach each and every student. Give us an ability to rejoice in successes and to find words of
wisdom and encouragement when there are failures.

O loving God, we pray for peace in our world and an end to war. Instead of hatred, let there be love.
Shelter your children and protect us. Guide us and keep us from harm, so we can build a world of love
and live our lives in peace.

May we be alert to the ways we may help those around us, and give us the grace to step forward
without hesitation to be men and women for and with others, for Your greater glory.

Come to our aid, O God. Open our ears to hear your voice in these troubled times, may we listen and
may we draw ever closer to you. May your wisdom be our wisdom, your patience, our patience and your
love, our love. Amen
