Application letter for 2021/2022 academic year prefect.

I am writing this application to apply for the position of school prefect. I believe I am capable
of handling the role of the school prefect with maturity, responsibility and respect.

I have been a Saint Andrews student for 6 years, I have learned many things and have
progressed in many ways thanks to the school. I am willing to help the school in any way. I
have helped coach the year 8 and 9 Saints hockey team when I was in year 10, I have also
participated in the school football and hockey team and have travelled to Lilongwe. This
shows how willing I am to help and participate in school events. My IGCSE grades were, A, B,
C, C, C, C, C and a D, I know these are not the ideal grades for a prefect to have, but I believe
that I can gives others advice on my experience and give them better choices if given the
chance of becoming school prefect. I can help the year 11’s with their IGCSE exams and tell
them what I did wrong because although I had a prefect and teacher having meetings with
me to help, I feel I could do better because I wasn’t a great student which means I could
relate to them, which would be more effective. Saints has helped me a lot and have taught
me the importance of mental health and physical activities which has helped me progress as
a student. Coming into A level was a big step, I have taken Btec business, Btec travel and
tourism and mathematics. My Btec classes have many assignments throughout the year and
it has taught me about time management and has improved my research skills. I believe I
can help the next year 12’s who have taken any Btec subject and give them an overview of
how their year will be and what they need to do in order to achieve good grades. For my
math mock I achieved a grade A which I am proud of as I have worked harder and
consistently this year compared to my IGCSE year, this I because I had learned from my
mistakes, I have made many mistakes this year, for example at the start of the year for my
first assignment for business I had left most of the assignment for last minute and although I
achieved a distinction, I feel I would have had less stress and more time to enjoy. It is
scenarios like this that give me bad experiences but great lessons. I may seem immature and
as though I just want fun and don’t work at all, but I know when it is time for these things, I
know when and how to act with complex situations.

In conclusion I believe I am the suitable candidate for school prefect as I am hard working,
willing to help and am able to learn from my mistakes. I haven’t achieved many things in
SAInts but becoming prefect would be a huge milestone for me and I would take it with
great care and responsibility. Thank you for taking the time to read my application.
