TASK SHEET 7
ONE ACT PLAY

THE FEAR

Elise's fear of meeting a man has come, she still doesn't lose her
fear because of her very dark past with men, but she needs to
love so that fear will disappear.

Characters:
Elise - the girl who had a fear of men.
Neil – the boy that Elise will meet.

Settings:
The setting of this scene is Elise is walking to the market to buy
the things she needs but suddenly a man bumps into her which
will be a way for Elise to lose her fear of men.

THE PLAY BEGINS


(Walking to the market)
Elise: It's late, I must hurry, but the market is still far off.
(He crashed into a man running around, and it was Neil.)
Neil: Sorry.. Miss..?
(Elise is in fear of being unable to look Neil in the eye.)
Elise: O..ookay.. Im fine don’t touch me.
Neil: I'm really sorry, I'm really looking forward to the meeting.
So I didn't see you, do you mind if I ask your name?
Elise: why?
Neil: I want to recover from my collision with you and then you
fell down so I still hurt you. look you have a wound!
Elise: No. Im okay.
Neil: Don’t worry Im not a bad person.
Elise: maybe, my name is Elise
Neil: so let's eat? Then I will treat your wound as well.
Elise: where are we going to eat?
Neil: anywhere as long as you are comfortable. You look
uncomfortable with men, WHY?
Elise: no, I have a bad past with men. Im sorry.
Neil: don't worry I won't hurt you.
Elise: okay, wait? what is your name?
Neil: oh, I forgot Im Neil
Elise: nice to meet you, Neil..
Neil: nice to meet you too, Elise...
From that day, they always together. Elise’s fear gradually
disappeared because she felt that Neil was different from the
men she had met.

Theme:
The theme of this scene is acceptance of the very dark past, in
order to lose the fear of the past you have to face it.
