Executive summary:

This report and all the related surveys to this report were conducted in order to determine the

impact of technology and the students and their interaction with internet and other technology.

So for this the method questionnaires method was adopted to gather information related to this

subject matter on that behalf some graphs containing facts and figures were created.
’TECHNOLOGY THEN AND NOW’’:

Introduction:

The use of the term "technology" has changed significantly over the last 200 years. Before the

20th century, the term was not common in English, and it was used either to refer to the

description or study of the useful arts or to allude to technical education, as in the Massachusetts

Institute of Technology (chartered in 1861).

This report is to discuss the effect of technology on the students and how they are using it such

as for gaining useful information or wasting their time on social media. That how in the last 20

years the advancement in technology has created a platform for the students to excel or fall in

their lives.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In the early 1980s, the use of computers was implemented in universities for the ease of students

so they could access the required information whenever they required or to do research on their

projects but it was very expensive at that time and the internet was rarely available to most of the

institutes. In the 90s the computers and internet was provided only for office or academic use and

their purpose that the time was obtaining information but in the next 10 years the technology

advanced rapidly so it had a major effect on the lives of students as they gained easy and early

access to technology so most of the youth started wasting their time. Now as the time has passed

the technology is very advanced and available to almost every person just a click away now as
everyone has smart phones so they can get information about anything, anywhere in just a matter

of seconds.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

This reports purpose was to emphasize on the effect of advancement of technology on students.

Significance of study

This report will help the institutes how to utilize technology in the best way possible for their

students. That now most of the students are dependent on calculator and computers to solve even

simple equations; in this case the students cannot train their brains to solve simple problems

without any help. by reading this report the institutes can limit or increase the access to certain

students of certain grades so the do not get used to using technology to perform simple tasks of

their lives. The right use of technology will simplify the way teachers reach their students learn

from anywhere as well as enable them to access academic information at anytime from

anywhere. Information is power, so both students and teachers can use advanced technologies for

education to make research on subjects of interest.

Review of related literature:

In the above graph it is clearly stated that more than (40%) of the teachers have voted that

advanced technology has made it easier for students to improve their writing skills. But there is

also a majorty of teachers who have voted that it had no effect on writing skills teachers who
have voted that it had no effect on writing skills.
In the above graph maximum of the audience has considered internet a good thing for themselves

and for the society. However, some have also considered it a bad thing according to their

experiences. So we can consider that internet is having a positive effect on society.

Now in this article you can see some of the negative effect of technology on society mainly on

our youth and all of these conclusions were made by thorough investigation and survey made by

respective institutes.
Method of study:

The method of study used in this report were questionnaires given to student and teachers of

multiple institutes and data was gathered by going through students’ academic data that how they

have utilized the technology and what changes occur in them .

Limitation of study:

This study may be limited with questionnaire as a collection of data instrument. Because

questionnaires must generally be brief, area that may have been affected by technologyor may

not have been included in the questionnaires.

In addition, not all programs that were included in the collection of data may have been included

in the study of the report. In addition, that our field of study was limited to some institutes and so

this conclusion is based on the information collected from limited institutes.

Conclusion:

The main benefit of the use of technology is that it has made the availability of information easy

and available to everyone. On the bases of the findings and several conclusion technology has

very vast advantages and disadvantages as well.

Recommendations
As from the survey we can state that technology has a good influence on the society and on the

students as well. The educational system can be improved by better use technology in schools

and colleges such as at an early stage students should be taught how to use computers and

technology for learning new things and preforming their academic tasks rather than wasting time

on internet.

1. WIFI should be openly available to undergrad and graduate students.

2. Computer should be in easy access to each and every student.

3. Institutes should have online groups where students can clear their ambiguity.

4. The search history of student should be monitored during the study hours so that

institutes can restrict access to those specific sites where students waste their time.
