Nowadays, some parents make their teenage children do housework in order to get their

allowance. But is that a good idea?

On the one hand, it will be helpful for their future. This is due to they will learn how to
manage their money. Furthermore, they will take responsibilities at home by the
consequence of collaborating with their parents in the housework.

On the other hand, teenagers should not do the housework expecting to have an economic
answer, it should be voluntary. And if they are always thinking about the money that they will
earn because of housework, they will not give the same relevance to other responsibilities of
their daily lives, such as, studying.

To sum up, I believe that the points against this idea are stronger than the ones in favour.
This is because, teenagers should be mature enough to have the idea of helping at home by
their own.
