1. What are the effects of globalization to governments? Explain each. (10 points)
According to Robert A. Watson, a former OH&E Specialist at Private
Contractor, 2008-2010, the biggest of the globalization to government is the
reduction of economic independence. The increasing market size with the effects
of Absolute or Comparative Advantages in manufacturing creates the need to
specialize in narrow product production or service areas to be able to compete
successfully. To make a healthy competition amidst globalization the government
requires to create two contradicting policies for the namely the Open Market
Policies and the Protectionist Policies to restrict domestic access to markets
using the tools of import quotas and tariffs on imported goods. Carl Leitz, a
former Financial Officer at Banking, 1962-1976, also said that globalization will
eventually eliminate the barriers of nations and disparate governments. Different
government in the world would have to connect with the other government to
have international relation. This is a big opportunity for each country to have
success. Other says that collectivism and universality will restore nature’s real
value and eliminate the fake value systems of economic. Fake value or wealth is
created by failed economics which creates fake income inequality. Economic is
destructive while nature is constructive.
2. Identify the institutions that currently govern the international relation and their
specific roles.

one of the bulk institutions govern the international relation. It is dedicated to the
improvement of the improvement of graduate education in international affairs.

EVALUATION:
1. How is regionalism different yet part of globalization?
Regionalism and globalism are two different concepts, yet they work
together. Regionalism is a process through which geographical regions become
significant political and economic units serving as the basis of cooperation and
possibly identity. While globalization is the interconnectedness and
interdependence of states, forming a process of international integration arising
from the interchange of world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of
culture, but then, regional economics have tended to be formed in part because
of the impact of globalization on the economic interdependence of states. As
borders have become open and economic sovereignty has declined, states have
been inclined to work more closely with other states in the same region.
2. Explain the concept of regionalism as:
a. Economic formations
Economic regionalism is an institutional arrangement designed to facilitate
the free flow of goods and services and to coordinate foreign economic policies
between countries in the same geographic region. Their examples include free-
trade areas, customs unions common markets and economic unions.

EVALUATION:
1. How do you define sustainable development?
Sustainable development is an idea human community must live and meet
their needs without compromising the resources of the future generation to meet
their own needs. In addition, sustainable development is the organizing of society
on how they can live or exist in a longer period of time while getting and
consuming what they needs.
2. What are the environmental problems you are exposed to? How are these
problems global?
Based on my personal experience, the most common environmental
problem that I have experience is the climate change. Since when I was having
environmental awareness, I have witness the rapid increase in climate change.
Stronger typhoons nowadays are coming to the country, unusual rainy season
and earthquakes and global warming are also happening. These environmental
issues are global, because it was experience globally. It was happened because
of its global contributors like countries with big industrial activities like United
States. Thus, this problem should also be address globally. A globalized solution
should be employ to solve this problem.

EVALUATION:
1. Do you believe in Neo-Malthusian argument? Why or why not?
As I have observed in today’s society, I can go along with the Neo-
Mathusian argument. Resources are limited and it should be consumed wisely.
But we all know that whatever we do to limits someone’s consumptions is
useless although we have the law of diminishing marginal utility. But consumers
have to understand that they are not the only generation to live. We have to live
in a community with the scare resources without compromising the needs of the
future generation. In my opinion, the idea of sustainable can be paired to the
Neo-Malthusian argument to possibly solve the problem.
2. How technology and intervention in development offset the pressures of rapid
population growth?
Employing family planning and birth controls can help to offset the
pressure of population growth. There are different family planning methods that
can be used to control the population growth. In addition, technologies are useful
to address food scarcity due to rapid growth of the population. Equipment used to
store foods for future used is essential. Recently, a unique and organic food
processing was featured to NasDaily where we can produce lot of meats without
killing any animals. The only have to is to process the single tissue of meat, put it
their invented processor and grains od meats will come out which can be used
for mass production of grind meat related products such as siomai.
We hope the invention and technologies like this would be supported by
the authority to pursue to end the agony about scarcity in resources brought by
the population growth.
3. Under what circumstances is rapid population growth beneficial to society?
Rapid population growth can haves its benefits to society at some point.
More population means a lot of manpower and man power is one of the natural
resources of the government for sustainability. Like China, this country has the
biggest population in Asia and they consume their human resources as man
power and became one of their biggest assets to achieve progress.
