Questions 4 to 7 refer to the following text.

Once upon a time, there was an old bamboo cutter, who discovered a three-inch child inside a hollow
bamboo. He and his wife adopted the child and named her Kaguya-hime. Then everyday, the bamboo cutter
would find a stalk of bamboo filled with gold.
Kaguya-hime grew into a very beautiful young woman so the bamboo cutter raised her carefully.
Everyone who saw her fell in love with her, but she rejected every single one. She set elaborate tasks for them
to attempt.
When the Emperor of Japan proposed to her, Kaguya-hime told him that she could not marry him since
she could not settle in Japan. She was sent from the moon in order to protect her from a celestial war. The gold
that the old bamboo cutter had found was sent to pay for her upkeep.
When Kaguya-hime intended to return to the moon, the Emperor of Japan tried to stop her. However, he
and his men were blinded by a strange light and could do nothing. Before she left, Kaguya-hime gave her
parents her robe as a memento and the emperor the elixir of life, which would grant him immortality, and a
letter.
Then, the emperor, overcome with sadness, asked his servants look for the closest location to the moon,
i.e. the highest point in Japan. At the top of Mount Fuji, the emperor burned the letter in the hopes that it
would reach the moon. The emperor also threw the elixir of immortality into the fire. However, the elixir
caused the fire to continue burning, and from that day forward, the top of Mount Fuji is always ablaze.

Questions 11 to 15 refer to the following text.

Ngaben, or Cremation Ceremony, is a ritual performed in Bali to send the deceased into the next life. The
body of the deceased will be positioned as if sleeping and the family will continue to treat the deceased as
sleeping. No tears are shed during the ceremony, because death is considered temporary and the deceased will
either reincarnate or find his final place in Moksha (free from the reincarnation and death cycle).
To decide the proper day for the ceremony the family would consult a priest. On the decide day, the body
of the deceased will be placed in a coffin. This coffin is placed inside a sarcophagus resembling a buffalo
(lembu) of in a temple structure (wadah) made of paper and wood. The shape, size and elaborateness of the
sarcophagus vary according to the social and financial status of the family. The sarcophagus will then be
carried to the cremation site in a procession. The procession will move in a winding pattern to confuse bad
spirits and keep them away from the deceased.
The climax of Ngaben is the cremation of the whole structure, together with the body of the deceased,
The fire, together with the chanting of priests, is believed to be able to free the spirit (atma) from the body,
cleanse it to enable reincarnation.
Ngaben ceremony is not for infants, indicated by not having any teeth yet. They are believed to be free of
sin so they are not required to attend the ceremony of reincarnation.
Ngaben is not always immediately performed. For higher caste members it is normal to perform the ritual
within 3 days. For lower caste members the deceased are buried initially and later, often in a group ceremony
for the whole village, cremated. This practice of mass cremation is the reason for the ceremony to hold at
certain times within a year (usually between June and August) that is considered the Ngaben season.
