¦ We have a two-per-page set of occupation flashcards ready for downloading. There is also a
black and white version for both sizes.

¦ Occupation flashcards are an excellent way of practising Present Simple questions and
statements. Your students could make sentences imagining the typical routine of some of
these people. Alternatively, ‘guess the job’ works well.

¦ The vocabulary listed below the flashcard is only a suggestion. We weren’t sure what to put
for a workman - it seems awfully sexist! (Other words such as a police office and fire-fighter
are in the ‘gender neutral’ form.) Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

¦ Depending on the mother tongue of your students, you may need to repeatedly stress that
jobs come with articles. (He’s a police officer.)
