Wh Question
 Whquestions begin with what, when, where, who,
whom, which, why and how.

 We use them to ask for information. The answer cannot


be yes or no.
 Forming Wh Questions:

We can make Wh question in two ways:

a) If subject is underlined to make question / Without


Auxiliary Verb:

Structure: Who/What/ Which+ Verb +Object?


Example: Saikat reads English stories.
Subject

Q: Who reads English stories?


b) If object is underlined to make question / With Auxiliary Verb:

Structure: Who/What/Which + an auxiliary verb [to be verb


(am/is/are), do/does/did or have/has/had] + subject+ principal verb
(present form)

Example: i) She wakes up at 6:30 am.


Object
Q: When does she wake up?

ii) I bought some story books.

Q: What did you buy?


 Things to remember:

While making Wh questions we have to change the followings:
