everyone here? No? Who’s missing? Let’s see..... (Check class list). Ok,
let’s go! We have to go to --- (Name of next class to collect students)
Now we have everyone! Off we go! We’re in (name of classroom).

2. LET’S GO... THE JOURNEY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE

DESTINATION
Ok, let’s wait here until the stairway is empty. – Be careful now, there
are lots of people in the hall. Keep over to the side, on the left, that’s
it! Ok, upstairs now, take it easy, slowly, on the left, be careful! Mind
the class coming down the stairs. Mind the class coming up the hall Go
straight to (name of class) – Wait at the top of the stairs. Wait outside
the door, we can’t go in yet! Inside now, leave your school bags over
by the blackboard, sit down in a circle (on the floor or around the
desks – organise your class to your taste) at the tables, take a chair if
you need one.

3. LET’S GET STARTED...

Hello, my name is Sara and I’m 23 years old. I am a teacher because I

love children and I enjoy with this job a lot.

Ok, we’re going to have our snack first, are you ready, we’ll go two by
two to get our snack, then come back to the circle, (this is a chance to
revise the class list, call each student and let them go to get their
snack. When the children have their snack we can begin proper
introductions, have the children introduce themselves one by one and
say what they have brought for snack today – Explain what you have
brought for snack or why you haven’t brought your snack today) What
a wonderful snack! What’s your favourite snack? I like…..

4. HERE’S THE PLAN....

1. Before the activity
First, we are going to explain and anticipate what we are going to do
in class:
We are going to work the topic of the statue of
liberty or liberty’s statue because it’s one of the most important
statues and monuments in the United States. Before starting
workshop, we should know the history and curiosities of the Statue
of Liberty and finally, we are going to have a fun workshop.
"Do you know what are we going to do? "
“We are going to speak about the statue more important in United
States! ”

2.During the activity

Before beginning the explanation of the history, we can ask them if
they like the statues and if they know some very popular:
"Today we are going to talk about the statues"
“Do you like to visit and see statues or monuments? "
"Have you ever seen any statues?" (they can explain some
anecdotes about this topic)
The history of the statue of the liberty
The Statue of Liberty is one of the most important and famous
monuments of New York, United States and the world. This statue
was a present from France to New York in 1886. Besides, it was
designed the engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (we are going to
explain that he also designed the Eiffel Tower).
Curiosities about the statue of liberty

1. The colour has changed because it was red and now it’s
green.
2. The Statue of Liberty has been copied in different sizes in
different countries of the world: France, United States,
Argentina, Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, China.
3. When there is a lot of wind, the statue tilts a little.
4. The crown of the statue has seven rays and twenty-five
Windows.
After the story, we are going to
begin to explain the activity or
workshop and the material we are
going to need: We are going to
make the crown of the Statue of
Liberty.
“Do you remember how many rays it has? Has seven!” (We can
draw on the chalkboard a drawing of the crown and We can choose
a crown with five rays or seven rays). “”
We are going to distribute cardboards and pencils. Then, children
are going to start to draw their crown seeing the drawing of the
chalkboard.
“You can see the drawing of the chalkboard if you need to help you
or you can ask me”
After they are going to colour their crown with the colour that they
want and they are going to cut their crowns (most children are
going to need help to cut them).
“ If you have finished to draw, you can colour with the colour that
you want”
“I can help us to cut them, don’t worry”
