Resistor Type Transducer Input Channel

One optional resistor type input channel is also available with the CT-7000. This
input channel allows the CT-7000 to interface directly with resistive type transduc-
ers (optional). The transducer resistance ranges from 200 ohm to 10K Ohm.

Timing Record Storage Capabilities

The CT-7000 uses Flash Electrically Erasable PROMs (EEPROMs) to store timing-
record data. Unlike other storage media, EEPROMs are immune to shock, temper-
ature, and humidity. Stored timing records can be recalled by users to re-analyze
test data, to print copies, or to transfer data to an IBM-compatible PC for record
keeping. Up to 100 timing records can be stored in EEPROMs.

CT-7000
Breaker Test Plan
Up to 99 circuit-breaker test plans can be stored in the CT-7000. Test plans comprise
all circuit-breaker performance specifications (stroke, velocity, contact time). By
recalling a test plan, the user can immediately test a breaker and view a pass/fail report
(made by comparing actual performance with the specifications listed in the stored
test plan). A user does not need to look-up the breaker specifications to compare with
the test results to determine if the breaker passed the performance tests. Test plans
can be downloaded to the CT-7000 via a USB or RS-232C port.

RVFeb07
Vanguard Instruments Company, Inc.
Vanguard Instruments Co., (VIC), was founded in 1991.
Currently, our 28,000 square-foot facility houses
Administration, Design & Engineering, and Manufacturing
operations. From its inception, VIC’s vision was, and is to
develop and manufacture innovative test equipment for
use in testing substation EHV circuit breakers and other
electrical apparatus.
The first VIC product was a computerized circuit-
breaker analyzer, which was a resounding success. It
became the forerunner of an entire series of circuit-
breaker test equipment. Since its beginning, VIC’s
product line has expanded to include microcomputer-
based, precision micro-ohmmeters, single and three-
phase transformer winding turns-ratio testers, wind-
ing-resistance meters, transformer tap-changing con-
trollers, megaohm resistance meters, and a variety of
other electrical utility maintenance support products.
VIC’s performance-oriented products are well suited
for the utility industry. They are rugged, reliable, accu-
rate, user friendly, and most are computer controlled.
Computer control, with innovative programming, pro-
vides many automated testing functions. VIC’s instru-
ments eliminate tedious and time-consuming opera-
tions, while providing fast, complex, test-result calcu-
lations. Errors are reduced and the need to memorize
long sequences of procedural steps is eliminated.
Every VIC instrument is competitively priced and is
covered by a liberal warranty.
