This wikiHow teaches you how to make multiple email accounts using Gmail, Outlook,
and Yahoo. You can create and link multiple email accounts and switch between them
easily or you can create aliases which allow you to add extra email addresses to the
same account. Aliases are great for when you're asked to provide an email address on a
less-than-trustworthy website or you want to sign up for special promotions, but don't
want to get spam.

Method
1 Using Aliases on Gmail

1 Add a plus "+" sign after the username in your email address. Just
after typing the first part of your email address, type a plus "+" sign before
you start writing the "@gmail.com" portion of the address.
For example, if your Gmail address is "john.smith@gmail.com" you would
put the plus sign after "john.smith" and before you started writing the
"@gmail.com" part of the address, like so: jo hn .s m i th+ .

2 Add a keyword after the plus "+" sign, then write @ g ma il . co m .

Add any word you want after the plus sign to create an alias. Websites
and mailing lists will recognize each alias as a separate email address, but all
the email sent to the alias will arrive in your inbox.

For example, if your Gmail address is "john.smith@gmail.com" you could

add + s pa m after the username to create an alias like so:

3 Give out your alias email addresses. You can add any words or text
after the plus sign to create unlimited aliases. You can create different
aliases for different ways to keep your mail organized and less full of junk
mail. For example:
Use yourname+spam@gmail.com to sign up for lists your unsure about.
Use yourname+news@gmail.com to sign up for newsletters.
Use yourname+shopping@gmail.com to sign up for online shopping
accounts.

4 Filter the aliases in your inbox. You can set up filters in Gmail that will
automatically sort the mail from your aliases into its own folder.

the clutter of your inbox.

2 Using Aliases on Outlook

1 Go to the Add an Alias page. In your preferred web browser go to

https://account.live.com/AddAssocId and log in with your Outlook email
and password.

2 Type the email address you want to add as an alias in the text field at
the top. It's the text field that has "@outlook.com" next to it.
Make sure the radio button for "Create a new email address and add it as
an alias" is selected.

3 Click Add alias . This will create the alias address and adds it to your
account.

4 Give out your alias email addresses. You can now give out your alias
email address. Any emails sent to the address will be sent to your main
outlook inbox.

3 Using Aliases on Yahoo

1 Open Yahoo's website. Go to https://www.yahoo.com/. This will open

Yahoo's home page.

2 Open your inbox. Click Mail in the upper-right corner of the page, then
enter your Yahoo email address and password if prompted.
If you've recently logged into Yahoo, you may not have to enter your email
address and password.

3 Click Settings . It's on the right side of the Yahoo inbox and looks like a
gear. A drop-down menu will appear.

4 Click More Settings . You'll find this near the bottom of the drop-down
menu.

5 Click the Mailboxes tab. It's on the left side of the page.

6 Click to the right of the "Email alias" heading. This option is in the
middle of the "Mailbox management" column of options.

7 Click Add . It's below the "Email alias" heading. Doing so will open the
additional email address form on the right side of the page.

8 Add your second email address. Click the "Your Email" text field below
the "Create a new Yahoo Mail address" heading, then type in the email
address that you want to use followed by "@yahoo.com".
For example, to use "humpbackwhale" as your email handle, you'd type
"humpbackwhale@yahoo.com" into the "Your Email" field.
You can use letters, numbers, underscores, and a period in your email
address. No other characters can be used.
Make sure you type in the email address that you really want—you can
only edit your alias twice per 12-month period.

Click Set up . It's a blue button below your the email address that you

9 entered. If your preferred email address is available, you'll be taken to the

setup page.
If the email address that you entered is already taken, you'll be prompted
to choose another email address.

10 Enter a name. Click the "Your Name" text field near the top of the
page, then type in the name that you want other people to see when
you send an email from this address.

11 Click Finish . It's at the bottom of the page. Doing so will add the
second email address to your account.
You can select your email alias in the "From" field when composing an
email by clicking your current name and then selecting the alias in the
drop-down menu that appears.

4 Creating Multiple Gmail Accounts

1 Go to https://www.gmail.com in a web browser. In a web browser, go

to Gmail's full desktop website at https://www.gmail.com and sign in with
your existing account if you already have one.

2 Click your profile image and select Add account . Click the profile
image for your account in the top-right corner of the page and select "Add
account" from the drop-down menu.
Skip this step if you don't have an existing Gmail account yet.

3 Click More options and then Create account . It's at the bottom of
the sign-in page. This will take you to the account creation page.

4 Enter a First and Last name. In the two text fields at the top of the page,
enter a first and last name for your email account.

5 Choose an email address. In the "Choose your username" field, write

the username that you want your email address to contain. This will be
the first part of the "@gmail.com" email address.

If the username you chose isn't available, you won't be able to use it.

6 Choose a password and write it twice. Choose the password you want
for this email account and enter it twice in the password fields.
The passwords need to match before you can proceed.

7 Select your birthdate and gender. Click the "Month" drop-down menu to
select the month you were born in, then enter the day and year in the text
fields next to it.

8 Select your gender. Click the drop-down menu that "I am..." and choose
an answer.
You can select "Other" or "Rather not say" if you don't wish to provide this
information, but you will need to select one of the options to create an
account.

9 Click Next Step . It's the blue button at the bottom of the page. This will
open the Privacy and Terms agreement in a pop-up window.

10 Scroll down and click I agree

5 Creating Multiple Outlook Accounts

1 Go to https://www.outlook.com in a web browser. Open your preferred

2 Click Create account . It's in the upper-right side of the page.

3 Enter your first and last name. Type your name into the "First name"
and "Last name" fields, respectively.

4 Enter your preferred username. You'll do this in the "User name" field.
The name you enter here will be part of the email address that people
see.
For example, if you want your email to be "whalesaregreat@outlook.com",
you would type w h al e s a re g r e a t into this field.
If the "User name" field turns red when you move to the next step, it is
already taken and you'll need to change it before you can proceed.

5 Create a password. Type a password into the "Password" and "Re-enter

password" fields. These two passwords must match each other.
Your Outlook password must be at least eight characters long and include
letters as well as either numbers or characters (e.g., punctuation).

6 Select a country. Click the "Country/region" drop-down box, then click

the country you live in.

7 Add your birthdate. In the "Birthdate" section, select your month, day,
and year of birth from the drop-down boxes.

8 Select a gender. Click the "Gender" drop-down box, then click Male,
Female, or Not specified.

9 Enter your phone number. You'll do this in the "Phone number" field.

This step is optional but will help retrieve your account if you forget your
password or lose access to the account.

10 Add a secondary email address. If you have another email address,

enter it in the "Alternate email address" field.
This is also optional.

11 Enter the verification code. Do this in the "Enter the characters you
see" field. The code you have to enter will be listed above this field.

These codes are typically comprised of all-capital letters and numbers.

12 Click Create account . It's the blue button at the bottom of the page.
As long as you entered all of the above information, doing so will create
your account with Outlook and take you to the inbox setup page.
Uncheck the "Send me promotional offers from Microsoft" box before
creating your account if you don't want Microsoft sending you promotional
(sales) emails.

6 Creating Multiple Yahoo Accounts

1 Go to https://mail.yahoo.com in a web browser. In your preferred web

browser go to the Yahoo mail website and log in to your existing Yahoo
account.

2 Click your profile image. It's in the top-right corner of the page, just to
the left of the gear icon. This will open a pop-up menu.

3 Click ＋ Add account

10 Verify your phone number. Click the button that says "Text me an
Account Key" and a 5 digit code will be sent to your phone in a text
message. Enter the Account Key on the Yahoo page and click "Verify".

11 Click Let's get started . It's the blue button in the center of the page.
Your new account is now active and linked to your existing Yahoo mail
account.

12 Repeat this process to create additional email accounts. Click the

profile image in the top-right corner and select "Add Account" to create
and link additional accounts.
After adding additional linked accounts, you can click the profile image in
the top-right corner of the page and click one of your other accounts to
switch to it instantly.
