NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE SIMULATION OF THE

SOFT OPENING OF SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021

With the formidable transition into “New Normal,” Bayambang
National High School-Infanta is committed in serving the Filipino youth for
continuity of learning amid the pandemic.

While under the Work-From-Home scheme, the BNHS-Infanta
teaching personnel downloaded the Most Essential Learning Competencies.
From the MELCs, the teachers made learning activity sheets and modules.
These materials will be used by the learners who will undergo Modular
Distance Learning.

Moreover, the school prepared and set-up the rooms where the
parents/guardians can get and return the modules. In distributing and
returning the modules, the school strictly follows health protocols. Everyone
is required to wear facemask and face shield. Upon arrival at the gate, the
school’s security guard will get their temperature using the forehead
thermometer. Then, the parents/guardians will wash their hands on the
indigenous handwashing facility. Afterwards, they will proceed to Room 1 for
the Health Declaration. Upon entering this room, their hands will be sprayed
alcohol for disinfection. In this room, plastic barriers are installed to ensure
that proper distancing is strictly observed. After accomplishing the Health
Declaration Form, they will drop it on the designated drop box.

The parents/guardians will now proceed to Room 2 for the returning
of modules. This room contains boxes labeled with grade level. They will just
deposit the modules in the designated boxes for each grade level. Then, they
will proceed to Room 3 or 4 in getting the new modules. Room 3 is allotted
for Grades 7-9 while Room 4 is allotted for Grade 10-12. Rooms 3 and 4
contain boxes designated for each grade level. The boxes contain the
compiled modules for all learning areas. The parents/guardians will get the
modules from the designated boxes for each grade level. Before going out the
room, the parents/guardians will present the ID of their child containing the
QR code. The assigned teacher will scan the QR code for recording purposes.
This is done to avoid affixing signature of the parents/guardians in the
receiving form.

If the learner has gadgets that can be used for learning such as
smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer, the parents/guardians may opt to
get the softcopy of the modules. In this case, they will no longer proceed to
Room 3, instead, they will be directed to go to the 2nd Floor of the Senior
High School Building. At the corridor, there are tables installed with plastic
barriers. There will be assigned teachers for releasing of soft copy of
modules.

After getting the modules in soft copy or hard copy, the
parents/guardians will be directed to the exit point of the school campus.

The prepared modules will be answered for a week. In case that the
learner wants to clarify something on the module, he/she may ask the
assistance of the subject teacher through text message, call, messenger, and
other platforms available. The teachers are willing to help every learner to
ensure that even in the midst of pandemic, learning still takes place.
