Subject: RE: EXT: Re: Inspection call for
PO NO. 7100022778 Dtd. 28.04.20.

Hi Mallinath ,

In attached drawing you can find all requirements but during TPI inspection following points was raised which you can find from attached report

TPL raise in point no-3.
As per drawing no-B-PLVP-0740M REV.00 STOODY 101 HC filler should be used but vendor used AWT 5743.Vendor need to provide the WPS for the used material and client approval.
How supplier is using this filler alternative filler wire with out prior approval from engineering and not even provided WPS.
Vendor to provide comparative studies of STOODY 101 HC with used AWT 5743 i.e. chemical /mechanical (hardness) along with other properties which gives us clear idea about electrode characteristics.
TPL raise in point no-4.
As per drawing B-PLVB-0740M REV.03 hard faced overlay (Triten T-200X/Vautid 100) should be used but vendor used EL8 filler wire with Cr,C,B,Mn alloy Elements and make overlay plate. Vendor shown the WPS for the
used material were the requirement of harness in min 550 BHN  but observed in WPS  test result  61 HRC (642 BHN).
As far as earlier approve is concern from Sarang Patil ,he approved for hard faced  O/lay plate as VAUTID -100 or ROCKSHAPE RC 62 as alternative of  TRITEN T-200X but supplier using EL8 filler wire with Cr,C,B,Mn
alloy Elements and make overlay plate. Shall we accept the same which supplier provides us as NTPC will check during PDI for which call was raised already by Pradip.

We all know that in in hard faced weld overlay area cracks will appears but that has some acceptable guideline which we have to get in detail during NTPC/PDI.

We need to align supplier for technical clarification & supporting documents to freeze this issue before NTPC inspection.
