Subject: Application of APCS-22A on Carbon Steel, Austenitic Stainless
Steel S, Inconel & SST.

On behalf of Offshore Project Department (OPD) and Hook-up and Tie-in

Division (HTD). I hereby submit my proposal to seek recommendations from
Paints and Coatings Standards Committee. On us using APCS-22A (Epoxy)
coating instead of APCS-1B (Epoxy) at following below listed steel
grades getting installed at Offshore.

1) Carbon Steel (Piping and Structural).

2) Inconel 625 Steel (Piping and Structural).
3) Austenitic Stainless Steel (316/316L) and Super Austenitic Stainless
Steel (S31254) - (Piping and Structural).

***** APCS-22A is two (2) coat system with Overall DFT = 250 Microns,
refer below breakdown on Sigma Product.

APCS-22 A : Epoxy Primer: Polyamide-Cured

Dry Film Thickness (DFT): 100 Microns.

APSC-22A : Epoxy Topcoat, Polyamide-Cured.

Dear Shivputtrayya,

Based on providing information, APCS-22A of Sigma coating product can be

utilized to carbon steel and stainless steel.
However, you need to check with corrosion engineer whether additional
coating is required over Inconel material or not.
