SNOW WHITE

Snow White is a fictional character and the main character of Walt Disney's first animated film,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She is also considered the first member of the Disney Princess
group. Snow White comes from a famous fairy tale from Europe, the most famous version of which is
the collection of the Brothers Grimm. Snow White is a young princess who lives in the palace with her
stepmother, the Evil Queen. Snow White has a melodious voice. Despite being treated badly by the Evil
Queen, Snow White was still cheerful. He sang as he worked, accompanied by the doves. While he was
drawing water from the well while singing, Snow White was approached by a handsome prince. The
Prince joined in singing so Snow White was embarrassed. Snow White ran into the tower. The Prince
sang a love song to Snow White and since then, Snow White fell in love with the Prince.

I found it surprising that Disney would chose to leave out the other attempts by the evil queen, but I
assume that maybe they did it to shorten the story and to make it more easily understood by a younger
audience. In the Disney tale, I remember the prince just happened to stumble upon the glass casket. But in
the Brothers Grimm version, the prince tries to make a deal with the dwarfs and instead is given Snow
White as a gift. Honestly, I don’t blame Disney for changing that part of the story because giving away a
girl like a piece of property is less than romantic. Disney’s Snow White awakens (in classic Disney style I
might add) by “true love’s kiss.”

I was surprised by the Brother’s Grimm version where Snow White is released from her spell
because the piece of poisonous apple was dislodged from her throat when the prince’s men are carrying
her to the castle. The Brother’s Grimm variation is not nearly as romantic as being brought back to life by
“true love’s kiss.” The ending of Snow White also varies in both stories. In the Disney version, Snow
White is awakened by the prince’s kiss and they run off “happily ever after” and do the whole royal
wedding (or at least that is what is assumed.) In the Brother’s Grimm version, the evil queen is invited to
the wedding and once there, is forced to wear hot iron shoes to dance in until she drops dead. I can only
imagine how terrifying that would sound to children, but for an older audience, I think that it gives us sort
of a piece of mind to know that the queen got what she deserves.

This story relates to real life for several reasons. The first, real beauty comes from within. This
is evidenced by: even though the stepmother tries to look as beautiful as possible, the glass on the wall
still says that Snow White is the prettiest, because beauty is not only from outward appearance, but from
her heart). Second, don't talk to strangers and don't let them in your house. This is evidenced by: when her
stepmother disguised herself as an old grandmother who offered an apple to Snow White. Snow White
let in and talked to him so that he was persuaded to eat the poisoned apple. Third, it's wonderful to have
friends. This is evidenced by: the dwarves who always faithfully accompany and guard, and protect Snow
White, even though Snow White is asleep.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has been the story of the abused princess who needs to escape
castle for avoiding being murdered through her step-mother, Queen. This has been one of most loved
animated movies of all time. After Queen learns from its Magic Mirror, which Snow White has been
loveliest woman within the nation along with looks that Prince serenading her, Queen hires the
woodcutter towards the murder Snow White. Rather killing Snow White, woodcutter tells her towards
running away. She met animals within forest along with they take her towards dwarfs' cottage. But,
Queen finds from her mirror that Snow White has still been alive. I really enjoyed this class. I have
learned a lot about films. Every time I watch a movie now I will look at it in a different way.

Although this film is very good, in terms of story and characterization, this film still has its own
charm because this film has been known for a long time and many people like this film. Disney, the
woman is described as someone who needs the prince's help to survive the evil stepmother. In
addition, women are also described as someone who likes to clean the house, cook, and is helpless. The
change in the character of the Snow White character in this film is shown by one of the scenes of Snow
White, who not only waits for the prince to come to help, but he has the initiative to lead his people in
the war against the stepmother to fight the crimes committed by the stepmother who is now serving as
the queen. Snow White also joined the war wearing armor and a sword and showed that not only men
have power, but women also have power.
