Presenting yourself in front of the class having a good aura is one thing. But presenting
yourself carrying a deeper meaning of education is another thing. As a pre-service teacher, it is
always wise to have a support system -a back bone- which could serve as a guide for us to walk
on a right pathway.
Through the theories learned inside and in an online class, one way of proving these
things was by being deployed to schools and to have it be practiced. National Competency-Based
Teacher Standards (NCBTS) itself was a vague concept and it requires more realization than
purely explanation. After all the sharing and giving examples about this NCBTS, I think I can
make it concrete by making my lessons more life base by connecting the lessons into real life
context, applying it by making myself active in all aspects to acquire growth not only for
professional reasons but also for individual growth, and by making myself aware of the different
things which could help me build linkages and know my incentives. As a pre-service teacher,
knowing and understanding NCBTS is very important. As we all know NCBTS is a general
framework whose goal for the learners is make them part of the society by empowering them to
help solve societal problems. By using and knowing these NCBTS as a basis for our higher order
intellectual quality task We teachers are not only making them aware of the societal problems
but also developing the values of becoming concern for the greater good of the community.
