WHAT 5 INSIGHTS HAVE YOU GAINED FROM THE MODULE?

Here are the five insights that I gained in this module. Through oral language, or spoken
language, children progress in their understanding of words and the ability to use them to
communicate their thoughts and feelings with others. They start by saying simple words
usually around the age of one, soon followed by stringing words together to form sentences.
Sentence Structure is important because it provide us with the framework for the clear
written expression of our ideas. The aim in writing is always to write in complete sentences
which are correctly punctuated. Children who lack phonemic awareness skills do not
understand what letters represent. Having excellent reading comprehension skills is crucial.
It increases the enjoyment and effectiveness of reading and helps not only academically, but
professionally, and in a person's personal life. Independent reading leads to an increased
volume of reading. The more one reads, the better one reads. The more one reads, the more
knowledge of words and language one acquires.
HOW DID THE MODULE MAKE YOU FEEL? BE AS DESCRIPTIVE AS YOU CAN

The module have many unfamiliar information and phrases. These words effectively deepen
to my mind. The module tackles about Guiding Principles in Teaching Literacy in The
Elementary Level that important to the understanding of teaching English profession. The
module also prioritize the guidelines in the selection of materials for language teaching.
WHAT IS THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE DISCUSSION IN THE MODULE AS A
BEED STUDENT AND AS A FUTURE TEACHER?

The contribution of the discussion in this module as a BEED student is having deep
understanding in Guiding Principles in Teaching Literacy in The Elementary Level also being
prepared and ready for teaching the language subjects. As a future teacher the benefits that I
gained in this module is having a head start and widening my knowledge in this field of
education.
IF YOU CAN ADD 1 PRINCIPLE IN GUIDING PRINCIPLES IN TEACHING
LITERACY IN THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL, WHAT COULD THAT BE AND
EXPLAIN THE PRINCIPLE?
Journal
- Involve children in journal writing. Journal writing assignments can benefit students
by enhancing reflection, facilitating critical thought, expressing feelings, and writing
focused arguments. ... In addition, journals can assist athletic training students with
exploring different options for handling daily experience.
