GUIDING PRINCIPLES IN TEACHING LITERACY IN THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL

WHAT 5 INSIGHTS HAVE YOU GAINED FROM THE MODULE?

The insight I’ve learned in this module is (Significant of reading) -Through reading books
story learner’s can improve the word recognition and familiarity in the recent word that
already encode in their mind. Most likely oral and written word has synonyms, so by reading
books children can also improve the vocabulary. The other insight is the through reading
alone or independent reading, the literacy of the children will be increased and boost their
confidence to pronounce the word correctly. Reading is the other foundation of learning,
using reading comprehension students ability to understand will be develop and it also make
pupils to enjoy the content of the reading materials. The ability to write is also under of
literacy, through writing young learner’s will be able to express their interpretation about the
lesson and make the children to easily remember the word what they have wrote.

HOW DID THE MODULE MAKE YOU FEEL? BE AS DESCRIPTIVE AS YOU CAN
This module make me feel knowledgeable about the role of literary in elementary level. After
reading this module there are some meaningful information that I've learned and must be used
when I’ve step in the career of teaching through this module helps me to understand the
different guiding principle in teaching literacy of the young learner’s. As future educator it
helps me to be aware on what appropriate approach and strategies on teaching literacy in
order to have effective learning process in the part of students.
WHAT IS THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE DISCUSSION IN THE MODULE AS A
BEED STUDENT AND AS A FUTURE TEACHER?
The contribution of this module to me as future educator is to be sensible in the worthiness of
teaching literacy in the elementary pupils. This lesson has a comprehensive contribution in
my career it helps me to become more thoughtful in preparing several strategies to develop
the process of teaching literacy and it also allow me to improve my vocabulary.

Trough writing journal the student writing abilities will be easily develop, they were engaged
in the process of learning by experience, the other terms and vocabulary that they learn when
reading books story will be apply by them. This purposes will make learner’s to be a creative
and let them to do a simple reflection about their achievements in the past few days and will
be able to share their experience.
