ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE
Many families fail to adopt to their new role
of being a stroke caregiver and experience
high levels of distress,thus,they may need
may need some form of support.We also
determined the program efficacy on
level of stress and preparedness for
Caregiving.

*CHANGES IN DAILY LIFE


-Doing some everyday tasks may be hard
after you’ve had a stroke.But learn to
manage of your new daily activities.Be
patience,give time to adjust and appreciate
the progress you make.
*DAILY ACTIVIES
-You may be a risk of falling.Make changes
to your home to help you walk more easily.
A therapist will decide if you need an
assistive device, such as cane or walker to
walk safely.
*TIPS FOR SHOWIRING OR BATHING
-Test the water temparature with a hand
or foot that was not affected by the stroke.
-Use grab bars,a shower seat,a hand-held
shower head,and a long-handed brush.
-Use any other assistive device advised by
Your therapist.
*TIPS FOR GETTING DRESSED
-Dressed while sitting,starting with the
affected side or limb.
-Wear shirts that pull easily over your head.
-Wear pants or skirts with elastic waistband.
-Use zippers with loops attached to the pull
Tabs.
*LIFESTYLE CHANGES
-Take medicines exactly as directed.Don,t
skip doses.
-Begin an exercise program.
-Limit how much alcohol you drink.
-Control your cholesterol level-follow your
providers advise about how to do this.
-If you are a smoker,quit now.Join a stop-
smoking program to improve your chances
of success.
-Learn stress management methods.These
can help you deal with stress in your home
and work life.
*DIET
-Your healthcare will guide you on changes,
you may need to make to your diet
-Reducing the amount of salt(sodium) in
your diet.Especially if you have high blood
Pressure.
-Eating more fresh vegetables and fruits.
-Eating more lean proteins;such as fish,
poultry and beans and any peas(legumes).
-Eating less red meat and processed meat.
-Using low-fat dairy products.
-Limiting vegetables oils or nuts oil.
-Limiting sweets and processed foods such as
chips, cookies and baked goods.
-Not eating trans fats .
-Don’t ear any foods that has hydrogenated
listed in the ingredient's.

*FOLLOW-UP CARE
-Keep your medical appointments close,
follow-up to important stroke rehabilitation
and recovery.
-Some medicine required blood test to check
for progress or problems.
-Keep follow-up appointments for any blood
tests ordered by your provider.
*CALL 911
-Call 911 right away if your not feeling good
again.
