International Association for

Trusted Blockchain Applications

Episode #2 INTEROPERABILITY

ITU-T 2 nd September 2020

About INATBA

Officially launched on 3rd April 2019, by commissioner Mariya Gabriel, the International Association
for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) is a multi-stakeholder organisation based in Brussels.
We bring together suppliers and users of Distributed Ledger Technologies with representatives of
governmental organisations and standard setting bodies from all over the world.

INATBA is uniquely independent. We are not for profit, protocol agnostic and free from undue
commercial influence. INATBA is ‘the’ interlocutor for Governments providing a truly independent
platform to engage in outcome based public private discussions on DLT and blockchain
technologies.

Mission & Activities

Governance Working Group

Why? Support INATBA at promoting a transparent and inclusive model of governance for blockchain and other distributed ledger
technology infrastructures and applications that reflects the shared interests of stakeholders from industry, start-ups and SMEs, civil society
organisations and public authorities.

What are we governing?

• Of the blockchain (off-chain) • Corporate Governance
• By the blockchain (on-chain) • IT / Data Governance
• Open Source Governance
• + each layer, application on a blockchain, …

Why Standards? Role in not only supporting compliance, but also the creation, of laws and regulations is important, and is a pre-
requisite for scaling sustainable DLT infrastructure by providing frameworks for interoperability and security, and quality assurance which
support the road to maturity
