Using eLibraryUSA for

Gale  Virtual  Reference  Library  contains  a  section  on  the  left  column  of  the  home  page  
with  a  list  of  Subjects.  Although  the  list  does  not  contain  an  individual  subject  for  foreign  
affairs,  it  does  have  several  options  including  Nation  and  World,  Law  and  History  that  
would  be  very  useful  to  access  information  on  foreign  affairs.  Also,  you  can  use  the  
search  bar  at  the  top  of  the  page  to  search  “Foreign  Affairs”  for  more  information  on  
the  topic.

Academic  OneFile  has  over  270  resources  related  to  foreign  affairs  research.  These  
periodicals  can  be  used  to  give  a  background  into  issues  related  to  foreign  affairs  

One  way  to  find  these  resources  is  to  select  the  Subject  tab  and  type  “Foreign  Affairs”  
(including  the  quotation  marks)  in  the  search  box.  The  results  will  list  Academic  Journals,  
and  you  can  find  results  for  Magazines,  Books,  and  News  items  as  well.  You  can  also  
search  within  results  to  find  more  on  a  specific  topic,  such  as  Foreign  Affairs.  

You  can  also  look  for  journals  that  cover  law  by  clicking  on  Publication  Search,  then  List  
All  Publications.  Under  Limit  Search  by:  Publication  Subject,  click  More  to  find  the  
subject  of  foreign  affairs.  

 
CQ Researcher

CQ  Researcher  writes  reports  about  important  foreign  affairs  topics  such  as  policy  and  
international  relations.  Click  on  Browse  Topics,  than  select  International  Relations  to  
review  all  of  the  reports  that  CQ  Researcher  has  published.  Other  topics  that  might  also  
be  useful  are  Defense  and  National  Security,  Government  Function,  International  Trade  
and  Development  and  War  and  Conflict.

ebrary  has  a  number  of  full-­‐text  books  on  foreign  affairs  topics.  Type  “foreign  affairs’  
into  the  search  box,  then  press  Search.  You  can  then  narrow  your  results  by  a  number  of  
subjects,  such  as  International  Relations.  ebrary  includes  titles  in  Spanish  and  
Portuguese  as  well.

Current Affairs for Embassies

Type  “foreign  affairs”  into  the  search  box  on  the  home  page.  You  can  also  limit  your  
search  by  selecting  the  downward  arrow  next  to  the  words  Subject  or  Category  on  the  
left  side  of  the  screen.  You  can  then  choose  the  subject  or  category  you  are  interested  in.  
This  will  provide  you  further  information  on  that  topic.    

IIP Digital

On  the  home  screen  you  can  type  “foreign  affairs”  into  the  search  box  or  a  more  specific  
search  such  as  “relations  between  the  US  and  Canada”.  Or  you  can  select  Topics  under  
the  search  bar.  From  here  you  have  many  different  options  to  choose  from  that  pertain  
to  the  field  of  foreign  affairs.  

eJournal USA

Type  “foreign  service”  into  the  search  bar  on  the  top  right  corner  of  the  home  page.  You  
can  then  narrow  your  search  results  by  selecting  the  content  type,  topics,  geography,  
organizations  and  people  on  the  left  column  of  the  page.  

Global Issues in Context

Select  Browse  Issues  and  Topics  on  the  home  page.  From  there  select  Conflict  and  
Diplomacy  or  Government,  Politics  and  Law.
